It’s been days since Mo’Nique set the net ablaze with her fiery interview aboard Shannon Sharpe‘s ‘Club Shay Shay‘ podcast, but that certainly hasn’t stopped chatter around the chat’s broached topics – especially commentary related to Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart, Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, and D.L. Hughley.
Yet, amid all the big names mentioned it’s conversation around her oldest son, Shalon Jackson, that is grabbing headlines most – especially after he slammed his Academy Award-winning mom for being “self-centered” and a bad parent.
As his nearly 10-minute address circulating around the Web, it landed on the desk of the comedienne who wasted little time responding.

Joined by husband Sidney Hicks, Mo responded to Shalon’s slams.
“There are some people who are saying ‘you should be ashamed of your mothering skills,'” she started. “Let’s let it play out. The same ones who said to me I was crazy and deranged, we watched it play out. So, just like with my son we’ll watch this play out.”
And while she did not specifically address Jackson’s more stinging claims, ‘The Parkers’ star did speak candidly about his disparaging remarks about her husband.
“When you said ‘her daddy, her daddy,’ that’s when mommy is going to say stop playing,” she said. “You know this has been ‘Uncle Sid’ your whole life. He knew you before you knew you. So, for you to say her ‘three sons,’ you’re absolutely right; he has three sons. He cannot claim you as his son because he has always been ‘Uncle Sid’ and he knows your daddy very well.”
Later chiming in, Hicks challenged Shalon’s notion that the couple has not been there for him in times of need by providing examples of when they provided financial assistance and more including helping with down payments on cars.
At the time of this report, Jackson has not responded to his famous mom’s reaction to his comments.
