Aaron Pierre‘s star continues its ascend. For, the actor has officially joined the new DC series ‘Lanterns’ in the lead role.

It has been announced that, after an extensive search and audition process, British actor Pierre will star as John Stewart in the show which is based on The Green Lantern DC comic.
He will star alongside Hal Jordan.
The series follows new recruit Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
Set to air on HBO, ‘Lanterns’ will comprise 8 episodes. It’s being produced by HBO in association with Warner Bros Television and DC Studios.
Chris Mundy serves as showrunner, Damon Lindelof and Tom King are co-writing and executive producing.
Pierre’s enlisting comes after he top-billed #1 Netflix smash ‘Rebel Ridge’ and ahead of his leading role in Disney‘s ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ – which hits theaters this December.
