Cynthia Erivo is blazing the box office as the lead in ‘Wicked’ and making history in the process.
Because, as the film (which also stars Ariana Grande) officially becomes the highest-grossing movie based on a Broadway musical at the US box office, the multihyphenate star is stepping into an exciting new chapter.
For, she has inked a first-look deal with Universal Pictures.

Erivo’s production company Edith’s Daughter (aptly named in honor of her Mom) has entered into a pact with Universal.
It will see the juggernaut join the performer in creating and championing projects that spotlight underrepresented voices
Universal Pictures President Peter Cramer in a statement:

Erivo added:
