Jennifer Lopez’s performance in the new movie ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ saw her storm the Sundance Film Festival 2025.

Following its screening this past weekend, the title has been the talk of the festival. Many have deemed J.Lo’s performance
Reflecting on the role, Lopez skewed emotional in her take. The 55-year-old superstar said at the premiere:
“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life.”
‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ is based on Terrance McNally’s stage play of the same name. This iteration is being helmed by ‘Dreamgirls’ director Bill Condon.
The film is set in early 1980’s Argentina and centers on those speaking out against an oppressive regime.
A release date has yet to be set, but it’s safe to say the buzz machine has already rendered the film a must-see. Critics are touting the title as catapulting Lopez into the Oscars 2026 race.
