Cynthia Erivo is set to bless the stage once again this time as Jesus in a star-studded production of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’.
Details below…
The Emmy, GRAMMY, and Tony-winning powerhouse (and three-time Oscar nominee) will take on the iconic role in Andrew Llyod Webber and Tim Rice’s legendary rock opera, which explores the final days of Jesus Christ through the lens of Judas.
Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Sergio Trujillo, with musical direction from Stephen Oremus, this production will usher in the revival of the Bowl’s summer musical series after a pandemic-induced hiatus.
Erivo is no stranger to ‘Superstar,’ having previously lent her vocals as Mary Magdalene to an all-female album version. Now, she’ll bring her divine vocals to LA for three unmissable performances from August 1-3 2025.
The role follows the star’s stunning performance in ‘Wicked’ and will take place ahead of her starring role in the sequel ‘Wicked For Good’ (which hits theaters on November 21).
