In his first formal feature interview since his 2024 sentencing, the 35-year-old actor revealed he worked through childhood trauma in therapy and domestic violence programs following his 2023 assault trial.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Majors shared that he experienced sexual abuse from both men and women starting at age nine, a painful past he only recently discussed with his mother. Despite their difficult conversation, he remains close to her seeing it as a step toward healing. He told the magazine that:
“From people who are supposed to look after you, in the absence of a father. I was f—ed up.”
Following his guilty verdict on two misdemeanor charges and Marvel Studios cutting ties, Major says his self-reflection has made him more aware of his behavior stating:
“There are no excuses, but by getting help you begin to understand things about yourself.”
Now engaged to Meagan Good, he’s hoping for a fresh start.
As for his acting career, his pre-scandal film ‘Magazine Dreams’ hits US theatres on March 21.
