When the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ returns to screens for 17, it will be doing so sans a certain Nene Leakes. Because the reality TV veteran has confirmed that she is not in the mix.

Taking to Instagram, the RHOA OG seized the moment to address rumors and calls for her return to the hit series.
The post in question centered on murmurs surrounding the potential comebacks of fellow originals, Sheree Whitfield and Kim Zolciak, in supporting roles.
With fans camping in the comments to call for Leakes’ comeback too, she swooped in with a clarifying remark. She wrote:
“They have NEVER offered me to return. Good luck to season 17 cast. We will be watching.”

Is anyone truly surprised?
Granted anything can happen in entertainment (as ratings rule the roost), the reality of the matter (pun intended) is that Nene levelled quite a number of egregious allegations against the network and key entities attached to the show.
Even if temperatures have since cooled and fences mended, simply picking up a peach like nothing happened just doesn’t present as feasible. Nor would that be the case in a “real-life” dispute scenario.
Could some semblance of a comeback be possible in the future? Who knows. Again, anything can happen in entertainment. But, in the here and now, we’re not holding our breath for a Nene return -as conceptually exciting as that is on paper.
As such, we’re more so buzzed about what the next chapter of the rebooted RHOA (which is said to be shooting imminently) will give.
