The project, which has been generating buzz for months, marks a poignant milestone in Warner’s career.
In the first-look images and teaser, the ‘Cosby Show’ alum can be seen delivering what the show’s synopsis says is a man caught in the middle of a chilling small-town mystery.
The actor, who died at 54 in an accidental drowning in Costa Rica on July 20, filmed a guest appearance on the third episode of season 2 of ‘Murder in a Small Town’ earlier this year. It is set to air on October 7.
Showrunner and executive producer Ian Weir tells PEOPLE:
“His performance — as a struggling single dad, fiercely protective of his daughter — just glows with integrity. He found levels that I hadn’t imagined. We were really delighted when Malcolm agreed to join us as a guest star — and completely thrilled by the experience of working with him. He was such a leader and a gentleman. It’s such a terrible, tragic loss.”.
Set against the backdrop of a sleepy but secret-filled town, ‘Murder in a Small Town’ promises a mix of suspense, intrigue, and character-driven drama.
