As reported, ABC pulled the plug on the late-night talk show “indefinitely” after host Jimmy Kimmel referred to the alleged killer of controversial right-wing activist Charlie Kirk as a MAGA activist.
Both a key FCC exec and distributor Nexstar took offense, publicly condemning the comic. A snowball that led to ‘Kimmel’ being taken off the airwaves.
Moments ago, though, it was announced that the show will be back tomorrow (September 23).
ABC’s statement read:
“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive, “the company said in a statement. “We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”
