As reported, ABC announced that the long-running nighttime talk show has been benched “indefinitely” after host Jimmy Kimmel referred to the alleged killer of controversial right-wing activist Charlie Kirk as a MAGA advocate.
A key FCC exec voiced disapproval on a podcast, which led to major distribution affiliate Nexstar pulling the show. The decision was then made to shelve the series…for now. A snowball effect of sorts.
While President Donald Trump has been active on social media praising the move, others have blasted it as a stain on free speech.
Following Barack Obama, former U.S Vice President Harris has spoken up and out.

“What we are witnessing is an outright abuse of power.
This administration is attacking critics and using fear as a weapon to silence anyone who would speak out. Media corporations — from television networks to newspapers — are capitulating to these threats.
We cannot dare to be silent or complacent in the face of this frontal assault on free speech.
We, the People, deserve better.”
