After soaring to the box office this summer, ‘Superman’ is already gearing up for his next chapter. James Gunn has officially announced that the sequel, titled ‘Superman: Man of Tomorrow’, will be released in theaters on July 9, 2027, with David Corenswet to reprise his role as Superman.
Gunn’s first Superman was a certified hit, raking in over $611 million worldwide and claiming the crown as the highest-grossing superhero movie of the year.
In true Gunn fashion, the announcement came with a tease. He dropped a comic panel of Superman standing tall next to Lex Luthor.

This sequel will double down on the rivalry between DC’s most iconic hero and villain.
The DCU’s Superman era is just heating up, and fans are ecstatic.

We would love to see an Asian actor to play Superman. Just like y’all can tolerate a Black man to played Captain America 💅🏼 we don’t mind if y’all casting a White woman, an Indian auntie or even a Black granny to be Mulan coz it is super messy and y’all ruined the classic anyways.
