Tyler Perry is facing renewed legal scrutiny following the filing of a new lawsuit that alleges sexual harassment and assault.
An actor who appeared in the filmmaker’s 2016 movie ‘Boo! A Madea Halloween’ has accused the media mogul of repeated misconduct spanning several years, according to court documents filed in Los Angeles.

The plaintiff, Mario Rodriguez, claims the alleged incidents occurred at Perry’s Los Angeles home after the two met in 2015.
In the suit, Rodriguez alleges Perry made unwanted advances, including inappropriate physical contact during a 2018 encounter. Rodriguez appeared briefly in the film as “Frat Guy #10.”
“Mr. Perry then put his hand on Mr. Rodriguez’s leg and began rubbing his inner thigh right next to his penis,” the complaint alleges.
Rodriguez is suing for sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, seeking at least $77 million in damages. The lawsuit also names Lionsgate, accusing the studio of ignoring alleged misconduct.
The filing follows a separate lawsuit earlier this year from another actor connected to Perry’s BET series ‘The Oval.’ Perry’s attorney has dismissed both cases as opportunistic and without merit.
As of writing, Perry has not personally commented on the latest allegations.
