Salaam, who says he had been close to Smith for nearly 40 years, claims Pinkett Smith confronted him in a hotel lobby during the ‘Bad Boys’ actor’s 2021 birthday celebration.
According to his complaint, Jada allegedly became verbally aggressive and warned that if he continued discussing her private matters, he would “end up missing or catching a bullet.” He also claims she demanded he sign an NDA.
He further alleges that additional threats surfaced once it became known he was writing a whistleblower memoir about his time around the Smiths. He says the alleged smear campaign intensified after his viral interview with Tasha K, during which he claimed he once walked in on the ‘Hancock’ actor and Duane Martin engaged in a sexual act.
Salaam is suing for intentional infliction of emotional distress tied to Pinkett Smith’s ‘The Breakfast Club’ interview, where she dismissed him as attempting to extort them. He alleges her statements were “false, reckless, and made with malicious intent,” causing him financial loss, reputational harm, emotional distress, health complications, and a derailment of his personal and professional life.
He is seeking $3 MILLION in damages.
