Grady Desmond Wilson, best known for his breakout role as “Lamont Sanford” in the classic 1970s sitcom ‘Sanford and Son,’ has died.
Demond Wilson Jr., the actor’s son, confirmed his father passed away Friday morning (January 30) in his home in Palm Springs, California. He was 79 years old.
According to the family, his death was related to complications from prostate cancer.
A celebrated author and TV, movie, and Broadway actor, Wilson’s entertainment career spanned four decades and included memorable appearances in film and television shows like ‘All in the Family,’ ‘The Love Boat,’ ‘The New Odd Couple,’ ‘Girlfriends,’ and more.
