After thrilling viewers at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival in September, the American crime thriller ‘Dead Man’s Wire‘ was given a limited theatrical release on January 9.
Winning over even more critics during that weeklong run, the suspense-driven flick – based on the actual hostage standoff involving famed kidnapper Tony Kiritsis – is charging toward a wide theater rollout on January 16.
“On February 8, 1977, Kiritsis entered the office of Richard Hall, president of the Meridian Mortgage Company, and took him hostage with a sawed-off shotgun wired with a ‘dead man’s wire’ from the trigger to Tony’s own neck,” the official logline reads.
Directed by Gus Van Sant, ‘Wire’ boasts an all-star cast including Dacre Montgomery, Bill Skarsgard, Al Pacino, Colman Domingo, and more.
