It’s game over for ‘Basketball Wives.’
Moments ago, the show’s creator and longtime cast member, Shaunie O’Neal (now Henderson), confirmed the news.
Full story below…
Since its debut in 2010, the franchise, which, per its title, followedthe layered lives of women attached to basketball players, has taken center court in the reality TV sphere.
Indeed, it cannonballed the likes of Shaunie (whose story, before the show, was most attached to ex-Shaquille O’Neal), Evelyn Lozada, Jackie Christie, and Jennifer Williams into the nucleus of pop culture.
Now, as the age-old adage goes, it looks like its time has come to an end.
Taking to Instagram, Shaunie shared that the final whistle has been blown on the show.
She wrote:
“Basketball Wives Update: You heard it here first.
Basketball Wives will not be returning.
Thank you to BET, VH1, Shed Media and to everyone who supported this chapter from the very beginning. What started as a vision became a platform that amplified voices and opened doors.
This isn’t an ending, it’s a transition. I’m stepping into a new season with exciting projects ahead that align with where I am personally and professionally. More to come.
– Shaunie 🧡”

Will you miss the show?

They should’ve been pulled the plug. That show has been on life support longer than it’s was ever good or interesting.
Amen!!
I’m so glad Tammie gets the last laugh… no one from that cast will shine beyond the cancellation of the show
