The week just gets worse and worse for embattled kitchen queen Paula Deen.  Many, presumably including Deen herself, thought they’d seen the end of her endorsement woes after Wal-mart and a host of others backed out of pushing her products earlier this week.

Hoping to do damage control by lending an emotional interview with Matt Lauer via ‘The Today Show’, it appears Deen’s tearful apology for reported racist remarks were not enough as even more top names are dropping her products from their inventory.

Things just seem to get worse for former Food Network darling Paula Deen.  After admitting use of “racial slurs” in the past, the kitchen queen has been the recipient of a royal backlash – one that saw her dropped from Food Network (her TV home of over a decade) and other endorsement deals.

Now, retail giant Wal-mart adds their name to that growing list (via HuffPost):

“Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is announcing that it has ended its relationship with Paula Deen a week after the Southern celebrity chef admitted using racial slurs in the past.  The world’s largest retailer said it will not place ‘any new orders beyond what’s already committed.’  The discounter says it will work with suppliers on existing inventories.’

The announcement was accompanied by news that Caesar Entertainment – the restaurant brand behind many of Deen’s well-known buffets inside casinos – will also be ending their relationship with the cooking starlet.  Read more about that here.

All of this comes just hours after Deen’s tearful apology on ABC’s ‘Today Show’ regarding the matter.  See it here.
