Designed much like our ‘Retro Rewind’ and ‘From the Vault’ features, ‘Replay’ is That Grape Juice‘s yet another reflective segment to act as a written quest to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday. Unlike its TGJ retrospective predecessors, ‘Replay’ looks to dust off and showcase entire albums (and eras) from a library of pop and Urban pop music hits.

Kehlani is marching on full speed to the release of her debut album ‘SweetSexySavage’ – which lands in stores worldwide on January 27th.

And while that’s only a mere matter of weeks away, the rising star is keeping the try-before-you-buy party going.

This time it’s by way of new song ‘Do U Dirty.’

Uncaged today, the track does away with the stereotyped damsel in distress narrative and sees the 21-year-old embrace her inner ‘bad gal.’

Warning her prospective lover “think you love me now, I’mma do you dirty,” Kehlani makes it clear she’s not trying to be attached just yet.

As captivating performers go, few can rival the the fire Fantasia ignites when she takes to the stage. And even when she doesn’t.

See, the American Idol graduate was tapped to perform at ‘Taking The Stage: African American Music And Stories That Changed America’ – yet ironically gave her entire performance in the audience.

Watched on by the likes of Will Smith, Jada Pinkett, and Octavia Spencer, Ms. Barrino shut down the Kennedy Center event with a rousing rendition of Aretha Franklin‘s ‘Dr. Feel Good.’

Christina Aguilera has been the subject of murmurs of late thanks to rumors that she’s left her longtime label and moved to Universal.

While there’s no official word yet on that, what is for sure is that Xtina rocked the stage when performing on an ABC special last night.

‘Taking The Stage: African American Music And Stories That Changed America’ was filmed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts; the showcase featured music, dance and dramatic readings by a wide range of talent – such as Aguilera.

She took on ‘Stormy Weather’ by Ethel Waters and her powerful performance awaits below…

Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’  allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

Next up? We’ll rewind to 1992 to revisit one of King of Pop Michael Jackson‘s biggest hits:  ‘Black or White.’  Released in November 1991 as the lead single from Jackson’s 8th album, ‘Dangerous,’ the tune was only on radio 3 weeks before it ascended to #1.  A cause only assisted by its controversial music video, which to date is considered one of the most controversial of all time, the song went on to platinum status and have a 7 week reign at the top of the Hot 100 into 1992 (where it’s seen this week).  The run also made MJ the first artist to have a #1 hit in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.
