As far as the critics go, Cassie has scored a winner with brand new mix tape ‘Rocka Bye baby’. 

Of course, while her vocal limitations will see her struggle to deliver its gems live, there’s no doubt this release has made the wait for her return well worth it.

Thematically deep enough to be taken seriously by the Hipsters but catchy enough to have the Pop fiends swooning, there’s a lot R&B’s leading ladies could learn from the project.

So, after giving it a few spins here, we decided to share one of our favorite songs from it with you guys today.

‘King of Hearts’ hitmaker Cassie may be surrounded by a team of paid staff who encourage her vocal performances without remorse, but in other facets of the young Grammy-winning nocalist’s life, she seems to be in tune with the truth.

Evidence of such can be found in her latest interview with hip hop publication ‘XXL’ magazine.  When asked where she fits in a world of Beyonces, Rihannas, and Katy Perrys, the Bad Boy beauty was surprisingly forthcoming and showered praise on the three pop titans.

Peep these pics of ‘Quiet Storm’ stunner Lil Kim lending her celebrity to last night’s ‘A Night In The Stars’ charity event.

Launched to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the star studded event saw Kim rub shoulders with ‘Real Housewives Of New Jersey’ troublemaker Melissa Gorga and Rap icon Pepa of Salt & Pepa.

Though we’re no fashion experts, kudos goes to whoever was tasked with crafting Kim’s look last night. She looked great!

Here’s hoping her forthcoming album sounds just as good.
