On Thursday night, Pop maestro Michael Jackson was honored at Grauman’s Chinese Theater for his contributions to both Pop music and the world at large.

Joined by Katherine Jackson, his three children, Quincy Jones and Justin Bieber was song bird Melanie Fiona, who lent her voice to the ceremony in honor of the late star, ahead of the release of her upcoming album, ‘The MF Life‘.

The pair made magic over the years, and will need to conjure up much more if they’re to deliver the “comeback” Carey’s career is need of.

And while their last major outing (‘E=MC2’) saw the pair serve up 100 ‘We Belong Together’ rehashes, we’re confident they can cook up something fresh and dynamic this go round. For, as the ‘Emancipation’ showed, ol’ MiMi is at her best when the odds are stacked against her.

Without a doubt, the return of vocal trio SWV  has served to remind many of R&B’s slow but sure return to the charts.
