In toasting the nods (which materialized into multiple wins), the star was joined by JAY-Z on stage for a special performance of their classic ‘Empire State of Mind’ alongside the cast.

The 2009 chart-topping smash pays homage to New York and features in the hit Broadway show. Thus making the live offering a full circle moment on many fronts.

Janet Jackson delivered a double dose of ‘Nasty’ at the latest stop of her mega-selling Together Again Tour.

For, she gave a super sweet nod to Tinashe‘s latest hit of the same name while performing.

The moment will no doubt resonate with Nashe, who has long named Jackson as one of her main idols. She even took to the stage at the BET Awards 2015 to pay tribute to the legend.
