It’s been six months since Janelle Monae treated fans to their first listen of her song, ‘Turntables.’

Prominently featured on the 2020 Stacey Abrams‘ documentary, “All In: The Fight For Democracy,” the critically acclaimed tune is at the center of Oscar buzz as it’s one of 15 songs shortlisted for the Best Original Song category at this year’s Academy Awards.

And though Monae’s kept the focus on her acting career for most of the past year, she’s setting out to prove she can still rock a stage as evidenced by her appearance on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ Tuesday night (March 10).

Look inside to see Janelle crank out her second live performance of the politically charged cut in just the last month alone.

The revolution will be televised if H.E.R. has any say so on the matter.

‘Fight For You,’ the follow-up to her highest charting solo hit yet (‘Damage’), was an immediate knockout with fans and critics upon its early February release.  Now, the GRAMMY winner’s unveiled the empowering music video for the Golden Globe & Academy Award-nominated tune.

Found aboard the ‘Judas & the Black Messiah’ official soundtrack, the song’s accompanying visual fittingly pays homage to the Black Panther movement and draws attention to the history of violence against African Americans in the United States.
