Fifth Harmony‘s brand new cut ‘Work From Home’ is doing just that on the British charts.

Released to support the Urban Pop group’s second studio set, the single (which features the rapper Ty Dolla $ign) has impacted the Official Singles Chart‘s Top Five…without physical promotion from the ladies in the competitive market.

The sizzling number sits at #4 thanks to its heavily-rotated visual (inspired by Ciara’s ‘Work’?) pushed it 11 spots away from the #15 position it held last week, and arrived there after the ladies learned that their music has spent 12 weeks in the U.K’s Top Ten.

They aren’t the only noteworthy artists on the tally this week. For, despite dropping two places, Rihanna’s ‘Work‘ holds its Top Five spot following the launch of her new world tour.

The single, which features the rapper Drake, was released to push her new LP ‘ANTI‘ which is expected to move just over 9,000 units in the U.S. this week.

We’re getting closer and closer to getting our hands on new music from Maxwell.

After sending fans into a frenzy a few weeks ago with the announcement his new album (the second of the ‘blackSUMMERs’night’ trilogy) was due this year, some of those fans may have gone into cardiac arrest after learning the dapper divo will be a headliner at the 2016 Essence Music Festival.

With all signs pointing to proof the R&B crooner’s return was imminent, he took to Instagram over the weekend to silence the rumors by not only giving fans a taste of what to expect from the project’s first single, but also to share news they’ll be hearing it in full…very soon.

Not even the likes of Rihanna and her faithful #Navy could hold rapper Future back from the wave of success he’s riding.

On a serious roll, as a reported here, Ciara‘s baby daddy is now the proud parent of a new #1 album (his third in a year).  Titled ‘Evol,’ the surprise release was greeted with sales of 139,000 (108,000 pure sales) – a response that slid him right to the top of the Billboard 200.

However, as the chart’s reveal, Future wasn’t Ri’s only woe.  Thanks to a resurgence in sales from ‘Hello’ hitmaker Adele, the Bajan beauty found herself even further down the tally than expected.

Find out where she landed and see the full chart check below:

Future just may be the hardest working man in the rap game.

Releasing four albums in five years (excluding a multitude of mixtapes), the rapper/producer has delivered his fair share of hits to the Billboard Hot 100 in his brief career.  Similarly, as his recent successes aboard the Billboard 200 show, his fans are by no means complaining about the wealth of music he’s lent.  In fact, if the commercial response to his latest project – surprise album ‘Evol’ – is any indication, they simply can’t get enough.

After two consecutive number 1 stays in 2015 (see:  ‘DS2’ and the Drake-assisted ‘What A Time To Be Alive’), it appears fans of Ciara‘s baby’s daddy should expect yet another check in atop the album charts in his near future…

After pushing TLC & Usher to Pop royal status in the 90s the record executive LA Reid set out to do the same with fresh faces as the head of Def Jam in 2005.

Joining him in his mission was the rapper turned exec Jay-Z who, keen to replicate the solo success of his then-girlfriend Beyonce and a ‘Goodies‘-supplying starlet named Ciara– picked up two new artists named Teairra Mari and Rihanna.

The rest as they say is history.

Now, Reid has revealed that Rihanna may not have been treated as a priority at the label if not for moves Beyonce made to support her behind the scenes.

Bow Wow and Omarion‘s 2005 smash ‘Let Me Hold You’ is our pick for this week’s From The Vault.

Released during the mid-00’s in a ‘We Belong Together’ dominated landscape, the track was the launching single from the rapper’s fourth effort ‘Wanted’ and was the first of many collaborations between him and the B2K alumni.

The cut was produced by Bow’s mentor and then-it guy Jermaine Dupri alongside No I.D. and uses a sample of Luther Vandross‘ version of ‘If Only For One Night’ – originally sung by Brenda Russell.

A  huge success in America, the melodic number peaked at #4 on the Hot 100, #2 on the Hot Hip-Hop/R&B and #1 on the Hot Rap Songs tally.

Bryan Barber directed the video for the single, which – like many a 90s/00s visual – is set  at a “turnt” urban house-party. Bow Wow can be seen serenading his love interest to mixed results.

With the clip climaxing with a “to be continued” tag, its sequel came in the form of Mr Moss’ follow-up duet with former girlfriend Ciara, ‘Like You’.

**************

After this single, Bow Wow and Omarion would go on to record an album (‘Face Off’) together, similar to R.Kelly and Jay-Z a few years prior. With Hip-Hop artists getting together more and more for joint projects – like Jay and Kanye’s The Throne or Drake and Future a few months ago – which artists would you like to see get their collabo on for a Hip-Hop/R&B LP?
