Despite giving over half the tracklist of ‘Smile’ (her ill-fated fifth studio album) the video treatment, Katy Perry‘s highest Hot 100 rung reached in 2020 was #40 – a feat earned by the project’s official lead single, ‘Daisies.’

Hoping to turn the tide of the LP’s success narrative in 2021, the GRAMMY nominee ended last year with the premiere of a music video for fan favorite ‘Not the End of the World.’  Starring her celebrity lookalike Zooey Deschanel, the clip served as a hilarious jab at critics who claim to have a hard time differentiating between the two entertainers.

Granted, the LP has proven itself to be his slowest selling to date but its singles – namely ‘Yummy’ and the Quavo-assisted ‘Intentions’ – have been the era’s saving graces.  Such is especially the case with the latter which was certified 2x Platinum, peaked at #5 on the Hot 100, and ended the year at #18 on the year-end charts.

Now, its predecessor is catching up to its ranks as it relates to certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
