Ever an advocate for equality, the star handpicked clothing from a roster of all-independent, majority-BIPOC designers for the Naima Green lensed spread.

With the issue’s inner-pages, Solange wrote a series of potent personal essays and poems – each of which explore her reflections on stillness, joy and the year that changed everything.

Fresh off of the release of their debut album, ‘The Album,’ Blackpink deliver two stunning performances on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core.’ 

The girls performed ‘Lovesick Girls’ where they nailed all of the instant iconic choreography that exists in the music video.

The girls then took swapped outfits from schoolgirl to an edgy sweater look to debut a brand-new rendition of their song ‘Pretty Savage.’ 

Blackpink have plenty to celebrate this week. Their first full-length album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 (as we reported here), making it the highest-charting album by an all-female group since Danity Kane’s ‘Welcome to the Dollhouse’ in 2008.

The singer took to Twitter on to announce that she would release a new song called ‘Cognac Eyes’ on her “secret SoundCloud” that her label (Dreamville) doesn’t know about.

Tory Lanez may be a Canada native but that’s not stopping him from taking a stance on injustice in the  United States.

Tapping ‘In the Air’ to be the latest lift from his new album, ‘DAYSTAR,’ Lanez uses the politically charged track and its accompanying music video to shine a spotlight on racial disparity in America – even taking the the streets of New York to take part in a protest.

It’s just a good week to be BTS.

Monday (October 12), the septet learned they’d made history by becoming the first K-Pop group ever to boast two career Hot 100 chart-toppers thanks to their remix of Jason Derulo‘s comeback hit, ‘Savage Love,’ topping the tally (as we reported here).  What’s more, the tune also tops this week’s Billboard GLOBAL 200 chart.

As if that’s not enough to celebrate, ‘Dynamite’ – the group’s current hit (as a lead act) – enjoyed an explosive boost in streams and sales thanks to a weeklong residency at ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ (click here to watch).

The second best-selling song in America last week, the tune’s #2 landing means BTS occupies the top two spots concurrently – another history making feat!

BLACKPINK have proven themselves to be the girls to beat on more than one occasion.

In addition to having made Billboard Hot 100 history for hitting the highest rungs on the tally of any female K-Pop group ever (as we reported here), their top 20 hit – ‘Ice Cream’ (featuring Selena Gomez) – was the first song by a girl group of any genre to debut in the chart region since Fifth Harmony‘s hit, ‘Work From Home,’ premiered at #12 in 2016.

Now that the tracking week has concluded for their Korean-English debut LP, ‘Ice Cream’s parent project ‘The Album,’ the quartet – comprised of Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo – are in mention with another girl group favorite of yesteryear.

As predicted, ‘Savage Mode 2’ – the long-awaited reunion album from 21 Savage and Metro Boomin – blasted to the top of this week’s Billboard 200.

Boasting guest appearances from the likes of Drake, Young Thug, and more, industry analysts forecasted the set – the sequel to Savage’s 2016 breakout album ‘Savage Mode’ – would outpace the jam-packed list of titles released on October 2 in the race to the chart’s top spot with total sales of 179,000.

While its final first-week figures fell slightly under the projected sum, ‘Savage Mode 2’s sales performance (powered in part by an album-merchandise bundle) still delivered just enough to land at #1.
