The comedy world was dealt a blow this morning when fans of the iconic 90’s sitcom ‘Martin’ learned one of its stars, Tommy Ford [‘Tommy’], reportedly passed away due to complications from knee surgery.

Originally reported by ‘black-ish’ star and friend Anthony Anderson, news outlets began sharing the story in droves…until reporter Ryan Parker reached out to Ford’s agent for an official statement.  It was then Parker learned Ford was actually still alive…until newly refreshed reports confirmed the worst.

‘Run It’ singer Chris Brown has seen his name running across headlines all day after a massive standoff with the Los Angeles Police Department at his Tarzana home.

As we reported here earlier, the Grammy-winner allegedly threatened 24-year-old former beauty queen, Baylee Curran, by placing a gun to her head while she was spending time with him.  Since the story broke, Curran has been on a media blitz – making stops at TMZ, E! News, and more to detail the ordeal.  Brown, on the other hand, took Instagram to proclaim his innocence…before surrendering to police:

Smith took on the role for the forthcoming movie ‘Suicide Squad’ which also stars ‘How To Get Away With Murder‘s Viola Davis who will join him to unleash the cinematic beast when it drops on the release date published here.

Charmayne Maxwell of the R&B girl group Brownstone has passed away.

After rising to fame in the mid 90s with the hits ‘If You Love Me’ and ‘Grapevyne‘, Maxwell passed away on Saturday February 28th and survived by producer husband Carsten Soulshock and their young son Nicolaj.

The Daily Mail reports that cause of death was a “mysterious fall”.

Maxwell was attending a soccer game in Los Angeles when she fell. Her death has been described as an ‘accident’ by Danish media Her & Nu, which broke the news.

While still mourning the loss of poet/author/activist/humanitarian Maya Angelou, the entertainment industry suffered another blow today with reports that actress/screen legend Ruby Dee has died at 91.

A Grammy, Emmy, NAACP Image, and Screen Actors Guild Award recipient, Dee’s 7 decade career saw her conquer television, music, movies, and stage.  Best known for her roles in ‘The Jackie Robinson Story’ and ‘Raisin in the Sun,’ the actress’s career was revitalized in 2007 with an Academy Award-nomination for her work in ‘American Gangster.’

That Grape Juice is saddened to report that beloved “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star James Avery has died at the age of 65.

TMZ reports:

“Sources close to the actor tell TMZ he died in an L.A. hospital last night. Avery had recently undergone surgery for an undisclosed illness and took a turn for the worse late yesterday.

And we’re told … his wife, Barbara, had been at his bedside but left for a short period of time to get something to eat.  When she came back, she learned he had just died.”
