Detractors who thought Saweetie‘s 2x Platinum breakthrough hit, ‘My Type,’ would be the last time the rising rapstress saw her name typed in the Billboard Hot 100’s top 40 were sadly mistaken.

The updated chart reveals ‘Tap In,’ the lead single from her forthcoming debut album ‘Pretty B*tch Music,’ has tapped into the #31 spot on the tally – cracking the top 40 for the first time since its June 17-premiere.

At one point struggling to find footing on the hit list, ‘Tap’ – which features a prominent sample of Too $hort hit ‘Blow the Whistle’ – blew into the top 40 on the wings of a viral Tik Tok dance challenge.  Later calling on the likes of DaBaby, Jack Harlow, and Post Malone to assist with the tune’s remix (which can by heard by clicking here), ‘Tap’ stands to rise to even higher Hot 100 heights next week.

Until we find out or sure, look below to see who joins Saweetie in the top 40 of this week’s TGJ Chart Check.

Although ‘The Boy is Mine’ has been the biggest hit of their respective careers, Brandy and Monica fans have always complained the song not gotten its just due on the live front over its 22-year life span.

In fact, their follow-up duet – ‘It All Belongs to Me’ – has been treated to more live televised performances despite not having as substantial impact on the Hot 100 as its Rodney Jerkins-produced forerunners.

For these reasons and more, the duo’s most devoted followers were all too pleased when they closed their history-making #VERZUZ battle with a live rendition of the tune.

Six-time GRAMMY® nominee and box office star Tyrese Gibson joined forces with three-time GRAMMY® winner CeeLo Green to use music as a mean to deliver an address to racial disparity and police brutality in America.

Titled ‘Legendary,’ the gripping tune saw its accompanying Deon Taylor-directed music video premiere August 28.

Clocking in just at 8:46, the clip’s runtime is the exact amount of time a white Minneapolis police officer used his knee to pin the neck of African American local George Floyd to the ground (causing his death as a result).

Speaking on the socially conscious effort, Tyrese stated:

“Legendary is powerful because the music and the video are meant to shift how we are seen. We’re in the middle of a revolution. As Black people we are fighting two pandemics: COVID-19 and Systemic Racism. The video painfully underscores the plight of our community, while asserting that Black Lives Matter. As for the music? The proudest moment of my life is when attorney Benjamin Crump said ‘Legendary’ is the new anthem of the movement.”
