‘Think Like A Man’ maestra Jennifer Hudson clearly likes the very spotlight she shunned in her 2008 hit as she is proving more and more why she may be the hardest working woman in Hollywood.

With multiple movies in the works, a best-selling book, endorsement deals, and weekly showing on NBC’s ‘Smash’ to her credit, reports have now surfaced that Hudson will be returning to perform on the Oscar stage this week.

In epic credit to her handlers, Jennifer Hudson‘s star has shone brighter with each year since her Oscar winning turn in ‘Dreamgirls’ seven years ago.

Ironically, though, this has been in parallel to the unremarkable performance of not one, but two studio albums on the charts. The singer’s 2008’s self-titled managed to go Gold, yet it’s follow-up, 2011’s ‘I Remember Me’, failed to connect with listeners and to-date has only sold 370,000 in the US.  Hoping to right those wrongs, the great Clive Davis has taken the helm of Hudson’s third project.

As reported here, ‘American Idol’ alums Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks are set to join forces in the Alicia Keys-produced film ‘The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete’.

The George Tillman-directed movie, said to also feature an all-star cast that includes the likes of Anthony Mackie and Jeffery Wright, sees Hudson play a drug-addicted mother whose eventual downfall forces her young son to raise himself.  Click PLAY above to see the fiery exchange between J-Hud and the young actor.

‘Dreamgirls’ co-stars Jennifer Hudson and Jamie Foxx were just two of many popular acts tap to serenade the President and First Lady at tonight’s Inaugural Ball.

Indeed, as onlookers gazed in amazement of the country’s “first couple”, Miss Hudson had the honor of setting the mood for the night by lending a fiery version of Al Green‘s signature hit ‘Let’s Stay Together’ for the Obamas first dance.

February 5th will see fans of NBC‘s hit musical series ‘Smash’ glued to screens for its season 2 premiere.  As previously reported, the show’s return to TV will see ‘Spotlight’ hitmaker Jennifer Hudson bring her chops to the small screen as Veronica “Ronnie” Moore.

Her season-long run on the show has received much publicity, but it seems NBC wants to give viewers new reasons to tune in every week leading into the season premiere.  Enter ‘Can’t Let Go’ – Hudson’s soaring ballad set for feature on the show.  Joined by the show’s other stars as background singers (including fellow American Idol alum Katharine Mcphee), see below for Hudson blowing the audience away in ways only she knows how.

Despite being out of the spotlight for some time, rest assured there’s no need to ask ‘Where You At’ to Grammy winning powerhouse Jennifer Hudson as she can be found on the cover of the latest ‘Lucky’ magazine.

The above mark only three groundbreaking movies to star the incomparable Sidney Poitier, who was honored in the Bahamas last night in celebration of his own career, and the Island’s 40th year of independence from British rule.

Joining Oprah Winfrey at the Paradise Island event was Jennifer Hudson, who arrived to tribute the 85 year old actor with her own single ‘Spotlight’ and a Whitney Houston medley, in honor of the late singer.
