If you thought the historic domination of Mariah Carey‘s perennial hit ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You‘ was limited to the Hot 100 this week, you thought wrong.
The same day Billboard took to press to reveal the tune had become the longest-reigning #1 hit in the 67-year history of its all-genre chart, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced the song’s parent album – 1994’s ‘Merry Christmas‘ – helped pencil its performer in the organization’s record books thanks to a shiny new Diamond certification.
