Detractors who thought a little controversy would stand in the way of Kanye West and the top of the Billboard 200 were sadly mistaken.

In fact, West’s latest opus – ‘Ye’ (in stores now) – was already on track to best the competition and land the Grammy-winner his 8th consecutive chart-topper overall (7th as a solo artist) as industry analysts suggested the set would shift nearly 190k SPS by the end of its first full tracking week (click here to read more about that).

Now, thanks to an impressive streaming surge, the album is on track to cross the 200k threshold by the week’s end.  Curious to see just how high ‘Ye’ is set to soar?  Look inside: (more…)

Rita Ora is brushing off the backlash and pressing on with promotion for new single ‘Girls.’

The track, which features Cardi B, Bebe Rexha, and Charli XCX, received critique from some corners of the LGBTQ community due to its lyrical lean.

Still, it’s holding up well digitally and looks set for a major streaming boost with the imminent arrival of its accompanying video.

Speaking about the clip during a recent radio interview, the 27-year-old revealed that the clip was filmed in multiple cities and features she and her guests celebrating women from different eras.

The plaques keep coming back to back for rapstress Cardi B.

After seeing her official debut single, ‘Bodak Yellow,’ cross the RIAA’s multiplatinum threshold, her tune, ‘Bartier Cardi,’ and featured appearances on ‘Finesse’ (Bruno Mars), and ‘No Limit’ (G-Eazy) helped them do the same.

Refreshed Hot 100 charts reveal Drake‘s ‘Nice For What’ is clinging tight to the top spot for a sixth non-consecutive week.  Keeping new challenger, Post Malone & Ty Dolla $ign’s ‘Psycho,’ at bay, ‘Nice’ leads a list of Hot 100 hip hop heavyweights with his own ‘God’s Plan’ at #3 and former chart-topper, Childish Gambino‘s ‘This Is America,’ at #4.

Speaking of ‘God’s Plan,’ with the cut having logged 19 weeks on the chart in total (never falling outside of the top 3), this week saw it become the first and only song in history to accomplish such feat.  And, while that alone is enough to celebrate, the continued reign of ‘Nice’ over the Hot 100 has yet again put Drizzy in the company of music royalty.

Though murmurs are lighting up the rumor mill about poor ticket sales from her recently announced return to Vegas (click here to read more on that), pop icon Mariah Carey is pressing forward with the announcement of a slew of European dates for a forthcoming Christmas tour. The outing (or one like it) has become somewhat of an annual affair for the diva who has long laid claim to the title of ‘Queen of Christmas’ thanks to her enduring yuletide hit, ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ and its parent album, ‘Merry Christmas’ (1994).

Taking to U.K. TV show, ‘Lorraine,’ over 6 months before the beloved holiday, Carey not only dished on the trek, but also talked about her love for the holiday season, why she keeps her Christmas tree up all year, and her mental health battle.

Fans may remember the Grammy-winner took to ‘People’ magazine in April to reveal her secret battle with bipolar disorder (click here to read more on that).  Now, she’s talking openly about it and telling fans she’s ‘hopeful’ and ‘optimistic’ about her progress.  Hear this and more inside:
