Billboard Hot 100 is becoming a man’s world once again.
Barring entries from serial hitmakers Rihanna and Taylor Swift, the chart’s upper dectet is completely made up of men – with the day’s biggest male hitmakers – The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, and Ed Sheeran – all seeing their name among the top ten’s tenants.
The latter, whose mega hit ‘Shape of You’ lodged its eighth non-consecutive week atop charts this week, still rings as the clear leader of all the data arenas that make up chart placements: digital sales, streaming, and radio airplay. However, with impressive gains from the likes of Weeknd’s Daft Punk-assisted ‘I Feel It Coming’ and Mars’ out of this world hit, ‘That’s What I Like,’ Sheeran’s eighth week at the top just may be his last.
Until we find out for sure, tuck in below to read this week’s refreshed TGJ Chart Check:
‘Dance Again’ diva Jennifer Lopez is ready to do just that with her new dance competition series, ‘World of Dance.’
As previously reported, Lopez – who acts as executive producer of the forthcoming NBC series – also leads its judging panel, which also features singer/songwriter Ne-Yo and dancer Derek Hough. Together, the trio are looking to crown America’s best dancer and gift the winner a cool $1 million for his or her moves.
Set to give FOX’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ a serious run on the dancefloor, tuck in below to catch the high octane trailer inside ahead of its May 8th premiere:
After watching his debut solo project, ‘Mind of Mine,’ disappear from charts almost as quickly as it topped them, fans may have thought it would be a while before the crooner’s follow-up project landed on shelves. But, if the frenzy whipped up by his post on Twitter today was any indication, they may be wrong.
Tapping artist/producer PARTYNEXTDOOR to help, it looks like Malik still got time to show fans what he’s been up to in place of promoting his inaugural outing. A dancehall flavored-effort, a snippet of ‘Still Got Time’ – due this Friday (March 24) – accompanied its announcement and serves as indication his sophomore release may be just as saturated with Urban-inspired sounds as its predecessor.
But, before we jump too many conclusions, just make time for the snippet of ‘Still Got Time’ inside and weigh in:

Ed Sheeran‘s ‘Shape Of You‘ has been omnipresent on the charts and radio alike. Hence, it’s unsurprising if it’s become familiar to the masses.
Well, it turns out one of the main reasons for that is that it borrows from TLC‘s smash hit ‘No Scrubs.’
And now its writers are being compensated accordingly.

Full-time slayer Jennifer Lopez lived up to her billing today at the NBC Summer Press Day.
The 47-year-old diva was in the house to promote her hit series ‘Shades Of Blue’ (which was recently renewed for a third season) and upcoming show ‘World Of Dance.’
Looking like a bag of money and good living, La Lopez continues to prove that her success narrative only gets better with time.

Stargate is making quite the splash with ‘Waterfall’ – the first single from their forthcoming new album. Recruiting powerhouse pop vocalists P!nk & Sia to assist, the bumping bedroom number – co-written by Diplo – sees the ladies trading verses with some of their sexiest lyrics to date.
Unfortunately, on record is where the trade starts and finishes. For, upon unveiling the tune’s accompanying music video, the pop chart-toppers are completely MIA (a feat the production duo are getting quite the tongue lashing about on Youtube and Twitter).
Alas, if you missed its premiere, see the visual for ‘Waterfall’ inside and weigh in:
As Mariah Carey makes the move from current day hitmaker to legendary heritage act, she’s zeroing in on the lucrative nature of her catalogue.

It’s hard to believe next month marks 15 years since the record-shattering, self-titled debut of the Murder Inc.-crowned ‘Princess of Hip Hop & R&B’ Ashanti Douglas, but the songstress – who is commemorating the event by releasing new music – is in just as much disbelief, a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar reveals.
Taking to the publication, Douglas says:
“It’s crazy. It’s an awesome feeling to know through it all—all my trials and tribulations, the obstacles, and the ups and the downs, the growing pains of the music industry—to still be here … it’s an incredible, humbling feeling. My album as a debut artist is still in the Guinness Book of World Records.”
And, if her sit down with ‘Bazaar’ is any indication, the ‘Happy’ hitmaker is looking to make more history with the soon to be released single, ‘Lose Yourself.’
Tuck in below to read her reflection on her 15 year career, dish on new single, and so much more:
