Well, it appears activewear brand Lululemon only thought once, didn’t care, or missed the memo all together.  For, after they took to Twitter to accuse the Grammy-winning diva of ‘imitating their brand,’ they set in motion a firestorm of clapbacks from the songstress’s beloved fans ‘Beyhive.’

hateful eight competition thatgrapejuice
One of 2015’s most critically acclaimed films, ‘The Hateful Eight’ (starring Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and more) marks a continuation of excellence from celebrated filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.  A post-Civil War western mystery film, the flick tells the story of eight strangers seeking refuge from an unforgiving wintry storm in Wyoming.

Via official release:

Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff. Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie’s, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Bichir), who’s taking care of Minnie’s while she’s visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all…
Now, after winning thumbs up from audiences worldwide, a ‘Best Original Score’ Academy Award win for Ennio Morricone, and garnering Academy Awards nominations for Leigh (‘Best Supporting Actress’) and Robert Richardson (‘Best Cinematography), That Grape Juice is inviting you to bring the ‘Hateful Eight’ home for your viewing pleasure.

aaliyah miss you thatgrapejuice billboard chart rewind

Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, just as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’  allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

Now, let’s blast back to this week in 2003.  There, you’ll not only find 20 of the top 25 were Urban-kissed, but you’ll also find ‘I Miss You’ – the posthumously released single by late R&B songstress Aaliyah.  Reaching its Hot 100 peak this week that year, the song – among those originally recorded for but left off of her self-titled third LP – was remastered and selected to kick off her 2002-released compilation/greatest hits package ‘I Care 4 U.’

Its heartfelt accompanying music video, featuring appearances from Jay Z, DMX, Missy Elliott, Toni Braxton, and many many more, helped propel it to #3 on the Hot 100 (where it peaked).  It was her third and last single to peak within the chart’s top 5.

Eight tracks make up the body of work that is Jhene Aiko and Big Sean‘s joint album ‘Twenty 88‘….and they’re now available to stream right here on TGJ!

Packaged with a ‘Parental Advisory’ sticker , the release soars in and out of 90s R&B and experimental Rock and offers Hip-Hop fans a romantic alternative to what Aiko says she is tired of listening to.

Music now doesn’t really cater to the feelings of a real relationship. It’s all about trapping and bragging. I feel like this project is something that’s needed right now…Especially a whole project, is just good for people to see. That duality is a perfect combination.

In addition to enjoying the enduring hype surrounding the newly released music video for her latest single ‘Dangerous Woman,’ pop princess Ariana Grande is keeping her heels hot on the promo trail in support of it and its parent album of the same name (in stores May 20).

Most recently paying a visit to our friends at BBC Radio 1Xtra, the songstress dished on her new project’s conceptual direction and even name-dropped its expected features.  And, while we were already aware of the Future and Lil Wayne-assisted tunes aboard the set, Grande clued listeners in on what other big names there are to look forward to on the Urban Pop project.

“I like an unexpected feature…I don’t want to do the obvious,” she said.

In addition to adding ‘Bang Bang’ collaborator Nicki Minaj to the mix, find out what surprise guest you will find on ‘Woman’ when it drops in May:

At this point all we can say is “wow.”

As we’ve reported over the last several weeks, Adele, Justin Bieber, and Rihanna have had a relentless control over the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 since their most recent albums (and singles from those albums) first burst onto the scene.

Addy and Bieber saw their ’25’ and ‘Purpose’ projects respectively released in November 2015 and have not once left the top 5 of the Billboard 200 since.  Similarly, since her first full week of sales, Rih’s latest number – ‘Anti’ – has yet to leave the chart’s highest quintet of positions.

The true test of their staying power was passed when not one, but two impressive debuts landed on charts in the form of Gwen Stefani‘s ‘Truth’ and Jordan Smith‘s ‘Something Beautiful.’ However, despite the sets bowing at #1 and #2 on the refreshed charts, not even the popularity of their respective offerings was enough to oust the trio out of the top 5.

‘Kiss It Better’ beauty Rihanna kisses yet another week ‘hello’ atop the Hot 100 with her top-selling Drake assisted single ‘Work.’

Dominating competition on every consumption source (streaming, digital download, radio, etc.), ‘Work’ shows little sign of slowing.

Via Billboard:

Just like on the Hot 100, “Work,” released on Westbury Road/Roc Nation, spends a sixth week at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart with 31.6 million U.S. streams, down only 7 percent, in the week ending March 24, according to Nielsen Music, marking the track’s fifth straight week topping 30 million streams. Impressively, “Work” is just the second song to tally five weeks of at least 30 million domestic streams, joining Adele’s “Hello” (five weeks in November and December).

Will week 7 be the week the son’Work’ finally gets worked out of its comfortable perch? Time will tell. Until then, see where all your other faves landed on this week’s Hot 100 chart check:
