Jennifer Hudson follows-up last year’s ‘Spotlight’ with new single ‘If This Isn’t Love’, the video for which premiered a few moments ago. Directed by Diane Martel, the clip has a simple concept, yet one which powerfully conveys the song’s message. I’ve grown quite fond of the song itself too.
What do you think of the video?
As the rave reviews roll in for Jennifer Hudson’s national anthem rendition before Super Bowl XLIII last week — her first public performance since tragedy struck her family in October — the singer is already preparing to launch a full U.S. tour. Manager Damien Smith tells EW that the Dreamgirls Oscar winner will headline a roughly six-week run in theater-sized venues beginning in late March or early April. “Everybody stay tuned,” says Smith. “You’ll be seeing a lot more of her.” {Source}
While it’s great to see Jennifer back on the scene, I’m hoping this isn’t all too soon.
Peep Jennifer Hudson on the set of the video for her brand new single ‘If This Isn’t Love’, which was shot this week. She looks stunning.
More power to her!
“It’s been a childhood dream of mine to release an album,” she said in a statement, “so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing. I’m extremely honored and humbled by the nominations.”
Hudson, 27, was nominated for best R&B album for her self-titled album, best female R&B vocal performance, best R&B song for “Spotlight” and best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals for her duet with Fantasia, “I’m His Only Woman.”
The nominations were announced on the same day her estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, was ordered held without bail in the Chicago shooting deaths of Hudson’s mother Darnell Donerson, 57, brother Jason Hudson, 29, and nephew, Julian King, 7.
It’s great to see a bit of positivity shining into Jennifer’s world, after what has been a very hard time for her. Here’s to her career soaring to new heights.
