‘Whatcha Say’ hitmaker Jason Derulo had a lot to say in response to recent headline-grabbing news that he sexually harassed and threatened an aspiring Pop star in exchange for a record deal.
In details of a shocking lawsuit that hit the Web earlier this week, songstress Emaza Gibson claims Derulo reached out to her with the promise of a recording contract – a pact that allegedly came with a quid pro quo agreement that included unsolicited sexual invitations, aggressive behavior, and – ultimately – threats that implied she would have to have sex with him to advance her career dreams.
“I’m at this point in my life right now, it’s very heartbreaking,” Gibson said in an interview Wednesday (October 4) with NBC News. “I have anxiety; I’m traumatized. I’ve dealt with inhumane work [and] I’m at this point where I’m back to zero and I have nothing.”
Just a day after Emaza’s accusations dominated news, Derulo quickly took to social media to refute them. Hop inside to see what he said.
