That Grape Juice has received reliable word that the video for Alicia Keys and Beyonce‘s ‘Put It In A Love Song’ single has been pushed back, and will therefore not première today as previously announced.

As at writing, no reason has been given for the push-back. Although there are murmurings suggesting it will now debut on March 17th (next week Wedndesday).

First ‘Telephone’, and now this. What’s going on?!

After many a delay,  Lil’ Wayne finally begun his year long jail sentence today.

The 28 year old star surrendered at the Manhattan, New York courtroom this morning (March 8th), where he was then placed in handcuffs and taken into custody after formally being handed down his sentence.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper, real name Dwayne Carter, pleaded guilty back in October last year to charges of attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He admitted having the loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus.

Carter will be serving his sentence in city jail, as opposed to state prison, and can potentially be freed after eight months, if his behaviour is good enough.

While I may catch some flack for this, all I can say is ‘it’s about time!’ I was beginning to think there was some JuJu/Obia at play here with the constant pushbacks to the sentence. Not to be confused with anyone taking pleasure in another’s misfortune, but as the age-old adage goes….”if you do the crime, you have to do the time”. I mean to think some folk were screaming “Free Lil’ Wayne”….erm no LOL.

Things are not looking good for diva Mariah Carey. The 39 year old’s remixes for her ‘Angel’s Advocate’ LP have failed to excite fans, with the lead  singles ‘Up Out My Face’ and the Ne-Yo assisted ‘Angel’s Cry’ failing miserably on the charts.  While ‘Up Out My Face’ peaked disappointingly at #100 on Billboard Hot 100, ”Cry’ embarrassingly never garnered enough airplay or downloads to even debut on the chart. Ouch!

This era is quickly descending into a hot burning mess for our Mimi. It’s all rather sad. With the Oscar buzz around ‘Precious’, as well as her other projects, it’s a bit baffling as to why she’d opt not to just concentrate on those (forgetting and hoping we did too) the epic flop that was ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’). Instead she’s subjecting herself to more embarrassment by lazily releasing a half-baked remix record. I really do not know who or what is helping her make these ill-informed decisions, but…

Check out this behind the scenes look at the video for Trina‘s ‘Million Dollar Girl’ – the first single to be lifted from her ‘Amazin’ LP (due May 4th).

Judging by the above clip, it looks like this will Ms. Taylor’s best video yet!

With the release of Kelly Rowland‘s new LP drawing nearer, we have received reliable word that a Chris Brown penned cut titled ‘Geronimo’ will be included on the record. The Los Da Mystro produced track was initially shopped to Rowland’s pal Brandy, however it appears the Destiny’s Child alumni secured it in the end.

Speaking on Twitter the pair exchanged the following:

KELLY__ROWLAND@Lonnys_world NOT HAPPENING!!!!!! WHAT UP!!!!! I can’t stop listening to “Geronimo”!!!!

Lonnys_world@KELLY__ROWLAND OMG! That song came out so hot… I can’t wait, to hear it again. You KILLED it!!!

You can listen to Chris’ version of the track after the jump and let us know what you think…

Many a star came out for Elton John’s 18th annual Oscar After-Party, in support of his AIDS Foundation. The event which took place at Hollywood’s Pacific Design Center last night (March 7th) was attended by Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, Stacy Dash (of ‘Clueless’ fame), Serena Williams, and more. R&B star Usher is set to release his sixth studio album ‘Raymond v Raymond’ on March 30th (March 29th in Europe/Australia).

While a number of songs have been rolled out thus far – some billed as ‘traditional singles’ and others ‘buzz’ singles, we have received word from the the singer’s label confirming that ‘OMG’ will serve as ‘Raymond’s…’ first International release. What’s more, the 30 year old echoed the news on Twitter a few hours ago, announcing that he is shooting the video with Black Eyed Peas front-man will.i.am – who produced and features on the song.

Though I’m rooting for Usher this go round, and feel he’s delivered much better material than he’s being given credit for with this record, my sentiments pretty much echo Trent’s review of the song from earlier this year.

In any case, if you’ve yet to hear the song, check it out below:

As Alexandra Burke continues to ready her debut LP ‘Overcome’ for its US debut, a re-worked track from the recording sessions has surfaced in the form of ‘All Night Long’. Originally featured on the UK version of the Platinum album, the breezy up-tempo – which was written and produced by Rico Love, Jim Jonsin, Sam Watters, and Louis Biancaniello – now features rapper Pitbull, and boasts tweaked vocals from Burke herself.

For those who enjoyed Chris Brown’s ‘Forever’, this will likely be considered a winner. Indeed, its catchy hook and fusion of Pop, Urban, and Dance should ensure its mass appeal, as well as radio success should it receive the single treatment.

That said, I’m still waiting to hear that ‘mind-blowing’ track I just know Ms. Burke has in her to deliver. ‘The Silence’ and ‘Nothing But The Girl’ aside, her material thus far has left much to be desired; with her saving grace being her undeniable vocal prowess and live performances. One can only hope the US version of ‘Overcome’ serves up the hotness…
