It’s here!

Just a day after dropping the semi-autobiographical short-film, ‘Trip,’ songstress Jhene Aiko delivers her long-awaited sophomore LP of the same name.

A 22-song project – featuring contributions and appearances from boyfriend Big Sean, Brandy, Swae Lee (of Rae Sremmurd), and more – the set follows 2014’s top 5 album, ‘Souled Out.’

Look up any chart this year and Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar, and DJ Khaled will have been firm fixtures.

It’s fitting, then, that the trio lead the nominations for the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2017.

Listed in all of the main categories, the group are followed by both JAY-Z and Chance The Rapper, who have nabbed five noms a piece.

Set to tape at The Fillmore in Miami on October 6th, the annual extravaganza will broadcast on BET on October 10th.

This year’s show sees the spectacle move from Atlanta to Florida and organizers are keen to support those affected by the hurricanes in the region.
BET Interim Head of Programming Connie Orlando said in a statement:

“While BET is extremely excited to bring BET ‘Hip Hop Awards’ 2017 to Miami, Florida, we remain sensitive to the millions of victims affected by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with those who are facing the impact of this catastrophic storm. As a network, we are committed to offering our full support during this most devastating time. Through Hip Hop Awards 2017, our ‘Hip Hop for Hurricane Relief’, will bring together some of the biggest names in hip hop to acknowledge those in need as the country begins the difficult process of rebuilding.”

For almost 20 years, Beyonce has proven a formidable force and 2016 was no different.

Billboard have published their list of Top 50 Music Money Makers and unsurprisingly Queen Bey has bested the rest.

The criteria drawn on to compile the tally were: sales, streaming, publishing, and touring.

While the list, in itself, makes for an interesting read, the difference between each act on certain fronts is even more riveting.

For instance, though Bey excelled in pure sales and touring (enough to make her total $20 million ahead of the act in #2 spot), other names like Rihanna and Drake outranked her streaming figure.

Check out key names, where they placed, and how they got there below…

Shortly after apologizing for rubbing a number of Twitter users the wrong way with his racially-charged verbal attack on an African American commenter on his social media handle, rapper French Montana is looking to redirect conversations about him back to his music.

Dropping two new tunes, ‘No Pressure’ (featuring Future) and ‘Unforgettable’ featuring Rae Sremmurd‘s Swae Lee in a matter of days, Montana moves forward with the releases after scrapping ‘MC4’ – the parent album that once housed them.

While ‘Pressure’ follows a school of songs French and Future have collaborated on (see: ‘Karate Chop,’ ‘Bugatti’ remix, and ‘Rich Friday’), the latter – the island-kissed ‘Unforgettable’ – is a revamped version of Montana’s November 2016-released ‘Unforgivable.’
