The 38th annual ‘Kennedy Center Honors, hosted by Stephen Colbert, aired last night on CBS after being taped earlier this month at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Honoring a group musicians, singers, playwrights, actors, and more whose lifelong contributions have greatly impacted their respective fields, last night’s honorees – Carole King, George Lucas, Ciccely Tyson, etc.- were serenaded by some of the days best movers and shakers (see:  Janelle Monae, Sara Bareilles, and more).

But, as if their show-stopping performances weren’t enough, leave it to Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin to really show ’em how it’s done.  Even moving President Obama to tears with her soul-stirring rendition of the 1967 classic, ‘Natural Woman,’ tuck in below to recap this and some of the night’s best performances:

If there are two things Urban fans know K. Michelle for it’s her big voice and big booty.  But, just last month the R&B diva revealed the surgically-enhanced latter would soon be placed on a permanent hiatus.  In a telling interview, she shared:

“For me, and my career right now, and me doing business — like really being on the frontline in business — I don’t need to have a man looking down at my ass when I’m trying to talk numbers. I can’t wear designer clothes. It’s always a problem when it comes to designers and like when they have to get stuff to fit my body.”

Well, it appears she’s kept her word.  Taking to Instagram, Michelle showed off her newly shaped bum (which she has affectionately nicknamed ‘Betsy’) and accompanied it with a touching caption.  See the full pic and Mz. New Booty’s words of wisdom below:

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss has carved out quite the post-Xscape career thanks to her entrepreneurial endeavours.

However, last night’s episode brought music back to the forefront for the heavily pregnant talent.

She was shown shooting a video for former cast-mate Demetria McKinney‘s new single ‘Unnecessary Trouble.’

Directed by Derek Blanks, the clip sees Kandi – who has penned hits such as ‘No Scrubs’ and ‘Bug A Boo’ – in familiar territory, playing the truth-telling friend who spills on a no-good-man.

Borrowing a talk-show theme, the visual makes for an engaging watch.

Ten…long…years.

Indeed, it’s been a decade since talented songbird Tweet blessed the industry with a new project. And while such a lengthy spell away from the limelight (in an official capacity) would dissolve the strongest of fanbases, it’s made hers even more steadfast.  This feat is evidenced by the critical reception of her comeback single ‘Won’t Hurt Me’ (the kickoff release from her January 2016-due album ‘Charlene’).

In this candid interview with That Grape Juice, the soulful stunner talks her hiatus, the state of R&B, compromising her sound, her new album, and much more. As ever, we ask the questions you really want answers to.
