Readers of That Grape Juice know how passionate we are about music – whether that be past or present.

However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from 5 Seconds of Summer, Ty Herndon, Grandma, and Surf Curse.

JAY-Z wears many hats – with the most notable being Hip-Hop legend and mega mogul.

Boss moves have defined much of the superstar’s present-day narrative, which has led many to question whether or not he’s retired from Rap. Especially as his last release, the critically acclaimed ‘444,’ arrived in 2018 and seemed to many to present as a conclusive effort.

Appearing on Kevin Hart’s new Peacock series ‘Hart to Heart,’ the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer addressed the murmurs.

Fresh from rocking the Essence Festival 2022, rising R&B star Raiche shines with her new single ‘Fool.’

Having amassed almost 20 million streams of her music to date, her latest offering – which will feature on her incoming project ‘LOVELAND’ – arrives on the heels of this year’s critically acclaimed cut ‘Complicated.’

Spotlighted as one of Billboard’s “15 Hip-Hop & R&B Artists to Watch,” the Pittsfield, MA native has been putting in the work – taking to stages nationwide to mobilize her unique fusion of R&B, Pop, and Soul.

And it’s seen her magnetizing the attention of the masses.

Speaking about the emotional anchoring of ‘Fool,’ Raiche tells That Grape Juice:

“‘Fool’ is simply an honest and heartfelt break up song. I talk candidly about my needs and why this person was constantly coming up short for me and how I can’t put up with it anymore because I’d really just be playing myself. The song is empowering and an ode to anyone who loves themselves enough to release anything or anyone that no longer serves them.”

Demi Lovato doesn’t waste time when it comes to hitting the promo trail in support of new music.

The same night the hitmaker’s last single, ‘Skin of My Teeth,’ made its world premiere, Lovato appeared on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ to render its first live televised performance – a boost that undoubtedly helped the Rock number soar into the top 20 on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart (#13 peak).

Hoping its follow-up ‘Substance’ will do even better bidding on Billboard with that same formula, Lovato tapped gal pal Paris Hilton to star in its music video and zoomed to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ to show off a live performance of the cut shortly after its July 15 premiere.

“I don’t remember last week, got my head scratching/ But everyone’s acting like nothing is lacking,” Demi wails on the Oak, Keith Sorrells, & Alex Niceforo-produced song. “I think we might be crashing, everyone’s laughing / Time is just passing, yet nothing lasts.”

Both ‘Substance’ and ‘Teeth’ will appear on Demi’s forthcoming eighth studio album, ‘Holy FVCK,’ due on digital shelves August 19.  Ahead of the LP’s arrival, peep the official video for ‘Substance’ inside.

At long last, Monica is back with new music and another taste on what’s to be served on her forthcoming studio album, ‘Trenches.’

Titled ‘Friends,’ the new song taps rapper-singer Ty Dolla $ign to assist, and boy does he do just that as the two swap verses about defying the odds to keep love alive.

“I got your back yeah (I got your back) / You got my front yeah (you got my front) / That’s what we love (that’s how we love) / We do what we want (do what we want) / They don’t notice all the little things / Notice all the little things / And everything you do (everything you do),” she croons on the Tasha Catour-produced track.

After scoring a viral hit as assistant on Saucy Santana‘s latest cut ‘Booty,’ rapper Latto is looking to pay homage to other parts of her anatomy with her new song ‘P***y.’

Aptly sampling the Betty Wright classic ‘Girls Can’t Do What the Guys Do’ (which most famously serves as the base of Beyonce and JAY-Z‘s 2006 hit ‘Upgrade U’), Latto’s latest serves as a big F-U to the establishment of patriarchy and misogynoir – especially in the wake of the recent overturning of the landmark Roe V. Wade decision that protected women’s rights to terminate pregnancies.

“Your misogynistic ways show the size of your d-ck / Seen with the opposite sex and just decide that he hit / I ain’t your property, b-tch, get mad and call me a b-tch / And if he make you split rent then he probably a b-tch,” she raps on the protest tune.

Hop inside to hear what else she has to say on the fiery new track.
