With the last week’s album sales having now been tallied up, it’s not good news for Jennifer Lopez. The singer’s latest effort LP ‘Brave’ (billed by many as ‘make or break’ for her career) has sold a terribly poor 54,728 copies in it’s first week. It stands as the worst charting album Lopez has ever released. {Source}There really hasn’t been a better time to get pregnant! Still, though the CD flopping (so badly) will not leave people’s minds, she may have a chance at success after laying low for a while or better still putting out a half-decent album. Haters can jump off Kelly Rowland’s back now lol.
Why do you think ‘Brave’ flopped?

I gotta agree, i dont think “do it well” or “Hold it dont drop it” were strong songs in comparison what the album has to offer.
Likewise for Kelly, i dont think “like this” or “Ghetto” have been overly strong singles for an album full of fyah.
It baffles as to why moderately weak singles are being pushed on albums that have far better material.

after reading that i decided to go on u tube and listen to a few of the tracks from the album – some of them are really good i thought! (much better songs than chosen lead singles) strange… maybe her timing/promo was all wrong

i think it’s because she doesn’t hav a strong single… Do It Well is way too bad as a lead single… as for rebirth, even though the whole album is kinda shitty, the lead single is super powerful and catchy… fyi, i’m a big fan of hers

WHAT DID SHE EXPECT? nobody buys CD’s anymore. PLUS she said DO NOT CALL HER J-LO anymore so she distanced herself from her urban fanbase. making her ass FLAT to appeal to white hollywood image of beauty was also a slap in the face of black women and latinas …I’M HAPPY SHE FLOPPED
GLITTER THE REMIX!!

Rah, aint some people Nasty ^^
At the end of the day, she’s doin her thing making music – if u dont like her then don’t put ur nose in her business.
She’s just doing her job at the end of the day, if u dont like her, you dont have to be nasty about it – its not like shes done anything to personally take digs at u.

i could have predicted her album was going to tank…but then i thought it would do moderately well because she was doing things differently, she was promoting the single heavily, doing alot of LIVE performances, and seemed really behind this album more than others. however, that video was not hot, she wasn’t bringing it with the choreography and i think her time has passed…she didn’t bring anything relatively new to the table…it was basically like she didnt have a break in between “brave” and “rebirth”…music is at a different state especially for female solo artists than when she was popular…either you are a strong songwriter (alicia keys), outside of the box (rihanna), or diva extradonaire (beyonce). choreography and a dance beat ain’t gonna do it for you alone anymore j-lo especially if your voice is lackluster and not original. she needed a metamorphosis for this project to work, and she basically did not.
