As previously reported, our girl Kelly Rowland has been working with hit-maker Ne-Yo on her forthcoming Universal Motown debut. There is now reliable word that new Ne-Yo demo ‘Tonight’ (formerly titled ‘Halo’) has indeed been recorded by the Destiny’s Child alumni for the record.
Although it’s currently unknown if the reference track will indeed feature on the album (which itself is said to be close to completion), the song certainly makes for a compelling listen. If this is what Ms. Kelly is cooking up in the lab, I’m even more amped for the album than I was previously! Produced by Stargate and penned by Ne-Yo, the song is a great embodiment of the Urban/Pop/Dance sound Kelly is going for this go round.

That song is a banger…but i am glad they changed the title jus due to the fact that B named her song “halo” and if Kelly had a song with the same name people would claim that she was copying or yea yea yea…But if she did record this that would be hot…I can so hear Kelly’s voice killin it and her harmony and power…I am gettin hyped again i better go before i explode…lol

@MEMO after this album you will love KELLY trust me, because everyone knows what was going on with the old management, she couldn’t work with producers she wanted and type of music she wanted to do, but everything is different now , KELLY will shine trust me. I am sure her new label and management have different plans to crack US, because internationally she is fine. you have to keep in mind that yea it might not scream hit but u are hearing a demo with no adlibs really no layered vocals…If Kelly hopped on this and added her power and strengths it could scream hit…I agree with MUNI i think there is gonna be an outburst of promo in April when her single drops…I think her label is gonna push her and she is so happy in the zone and space that she is in…KELLY WE KNOW YOUR GONNA KILL IT!!! and UNIVERSAL YALL BETTA PUSH THIS TALENT TO THE TOP…NO half assed promo pull out the stops and have her EVERYWHERE

This sounds hot considering it’s not even her first single. It’s got a reggae feel to it. You guys got to remember its just a demo. Her album is shaping up to be quite nice. People can get mad and sleep on her all they want. But good music cannot and will not be denied. This album is going to do well. Wether some of you like it or not. Even if she isn’t number one, guaranteed her album will do better than the last two when she had “other” management. This girl is working hard and it should be noticed and this time i think it finally will.

I like what I hear, and when Kelly get’s on it, I know I’ll love it. I wish the song was still called Halo because it has a good concept to it from listening to the song. Forget what Beyonce released; this Kelly Rowland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fall in line or fall back!!!!!!

I agree I do like the song, at first when it came on I wasnt so sure but once the chorus hit it got me. However I am curious to hear how Kelly would sound on this song becuz she does have such a strong voice compared to NE-YO. But I do like the song and am awaiting Kelly’s album.
