Cheryl Cole Readies Second Album

Published: Saturday 3rd Jul 2010 by Sam

Following on the multi-Platinum success of her solo debut, ‘3 Words’, Cheryl Cole is reportedly set to release its follow-up before the year is out.

Full story after the jump…

According to The Sun, the Girls Aloud singer is to fly out to Los Angeles this month to finish up the recording of the record with will.i.am, among other hit-making producers.

With Cole set to complete the LP during the filming of the ‘Judges Houses’ stage of the X-Factor‘s new season,  it is believed  that she will be accompanied by the contestants on the ITV reality show on her trip to the States.

Reliable word has it that, as with her previous project, the promotional push for her new album will tie in with the X-Factor’s live shows (which kick off in October) {Source}

While the news of a new Cheryl Cole album is somewhat disturbing, I am appeased by the fact that it’d be difficult to release a record as shambolic as her last. That said, the inevitable media-saturation of her half-baked musical efforts will no doubt leave me yearning for quality music and artists to get more recognition here in the UK.

Randomness: Is it me or is this the first we’re hearing that she’s actually been recording anything? Yet now, she’s apparently putting the ‘finishing touches’ on the project? Confused.com. I guess this will be yet another case of fast-food music. SMH…

    no there was reports before that she was recording, its been rumoured she has worked with red one and the songs are ment to be more dance, but then it was rumoured they were more dark and about heartbreak. 🙂

    the UK has so many good artists and this one is the one that gets more recognition, such a shame, there are mindless bubble pop songs that are good to listen to for fun or something but that “Fight For This Love” song is horrible, definetely one of the worse songs I have ever heard and this woman is very overrated

  3. AlexanderTG July 3, 2010

    There were a few tracks on 3 Words that I liked and actually FFTL was one of them. As for her being overrated, by who exactly, most of the press she gets is about her looks or he ex-marriage – most things I’ve read about her music have been pretty negative – like all that stuff last year when she was building up to singing FFTL live on X-Factor, you could see the press just drooling over the chance to rip her performance to shreds. OK, she’s not got a strong voice and I’m not sure she’s really settled on a style as yet, but I think I’ll leave any criticisms till after the album comes out.

    Its been reported back in february that she was recording new material when she flew out to LA when her marriage broke down, because there was pictures of her coming out of recording studios.
    Plus 3 Words was one of the best albums of 2009 along with the likes of Rihanna and others.

    She’s gorgeous and that’s where it stops abruptly. Her singing is terrible and her songs are an abomination. Beautiful woman though

    yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. tmak July 3, 2010

    Oooooooh sam……… Upset that Cheryl sell’s more in the UK than Kelly sell’s worldwide? lmfaooo. CANT WAIT FOR THE NEW ALBUM!!!!!!!! Cheryl is the best the UK has to offer right now, Her voice may be weak but she can dance her a** off, Looks amazing! & Releases catchy tunes. Leona & Alex are of course more talanted but they just aint bringing it like Ms Tweedy!

  8. AlexanderTG July 3, 2010

    @TMAK
    That’s a point we’re going to have to start calling her Cheryl Tweedy again now.

  9. tmak July 3, 2010

    @ALEXANDERTG
    I read somewhere she’s keeping Cole as her stage name, Apparantly shes built her brand around that name 🙁

  10. AlexanderTG July 3, 2010

    @TMAK
    Yeah that does make sense – just leads to confusion changing it I guess

    Cheryl (according to some) dances so well on stage because she lip sinks. In my opinion the album was disposable pop music at its worst and did so well due to the free publicity that she has been getting since having (and courting) all supposed drama in her life (= sympathy vote)

    Unfortunately (and to my horror) it was reported that she was recording new material earlier on in the year. FFTL was catch until i heard the original demo sung by a man… and much better.

    Leona & Alexandra are not exactly doing badly sales wise, but Cheryl better hope that Leona doesn’t find her groove and Alexandra doesn’t step into R&B/Pop waters because regardless of record sales Cheryl will be well and truly finished.

    I want girls alound to reform because i’m tired of seeing this chick already.

    No doubt she’ll use the juggernaut of the xfactor to launch the new single, allowing all the chavs, fhm readers and who adore her to run out and buy/download the single.

  12. AlexanderTG July 3, 2010

    @DEV
    I don’t really think the single did well because of the sympathy vote – yes it was totally disposable pop, but (in my opinion) it was well produced, catchy totally disposable pop – and there’s a place for that kind of thing – it was a fun record to dance to – and if you’ve had a few and are just looking to dance you don’t really want some deep political track all about the oppressed (sorry M.I.A. jab moment there). The only way Cheryl’s sales would be hit hard by Leona and Alex would be if they released stuff at the same time as her and since they’re both signed to Syco that’s not likely to happen – Simon’s not going to let that happen.

    RACISTS B****. WHO CARES ABOUT THIS RACIST B****

  14. Lena July 3, 2010

    ^ Everyone’s racist, get the f*** over it.

  15. AlexanderTG July 3, 2010

    @LENA
    Everybody? Kind of a broad comment.

  16. DANBOFFICIAL (AALIYAH/XTINA/RIHANNA) (STAN) July 3, 2010

    this b**** is the biggest Janet swaggajacka in the industry, she would be a bad b**** if she could sing, because she has the moves but because her voice is weaker than cat p*** my sweeties, this chick fails.

    *WHO OWNS THE THRONE?*

    *YOU DO MOMMY!*

  17. Tha Phoenix July 3, 2010

    Who actually cares about this talentless girl?

    NEXT.

  18. yesyes July 3, 2010

    a Danja cheryl song would be amaze. she is fast food pop but who cares…shes beautiful and produces good music!

  19. raraskils July 3, 2010

    she’s beautiful. and thats it.
    im sure her music career wont last long if thats all shes relying on, her beauty, and im sure she knows it to, thats why shes tryna release music before she’s forgotten.

  20. Dev July 3, 2010

    @ALEXANDRATG

    Music doesn’t have to be deep and meaningful, just decently sung, she will never be able to do that. This chick had the cheek to do radio one live lounge and screeched with confidence. There are chicks who could sing her songs better than her and prob in the group she was in.

  21. AlexanderTG July 3, 2010

    @DEV
    Know what you mean – like I said it was well produced and catchy, but I didn’t say well sung. Fact is that yes there are lots of talented girls out there and not all of them will ever get the break to get a record deal while others who aren’t as good will – guess that’s always been the way of things. As for Cheryl herself – someone asked if anyone cared about her – well I do – she may not be a great singer, but she does seem to be quite genuine and kind to other people and if you meet her there’s something just generally likeable about her.

  22. True July 4, 2010

    i find it funny that in order to sell her album she has to tie it in to when the x factor come back on. can she sell a album without the publicity she gets from the X factor is the question?
    remember ‘fight for this love’ was rereleased because Alexander ‘bad boys’ went to number one & she didn’t chart, her record label rereleased the song for after she lip synced on the X factor.

  23. MaryMag July 4, 2010

    YES!!! The Queen is coming back! I wish she would debut in the states! She would shut Beyawnce, Gagoo, P!nk, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears & Madonna down!!

    Her & the other royal queen rihanna could run the charts together and be real good besties!

    Ryan Seacrest needs to give the Queen (Cheryl) a reality show!

    She is soo amazing! I love her!

  24. EXPOSED July 5, 2010

    B**** WILL NEVER MAKE IT IN THE USA!! KEEP LIP SYNCING ACROSS THE POND. NUFF SAID. COLE IS CONSIDERED “DANCE/URBAN” OVER IN THE UK; OVER HERE SHE’S CONSIDERED A NO TALENT NON SINGING WHITE CHIC WHO CAN MIME A KARAOKE JANET TUNE. THAT’S ABOUT IT. I SWEAR HER US DEBUT WILL BE WORSE THAN CHARICE’S 1ST WEEK NUMBERS, WHO CAN ACTUALLY SING. LOL.
