The ‘Bottoms Up’ singer got defensive when the radio show’s host, Boogie D, commented about the negative attitude that Songz portrayed in his BET reality show, ‘Trey Songz: My Moment’. Although Songz was honest about his views, it is blatantly apparent that he does not understand the importance of likability when dealing with the media. No matter how talented he considers himself to be as an artist, consumers have to like him if he wants them to join his developing fanbase. Furthermore, the last thing Songz should do is upset members of the media because he needs the support of the DJs so that his records will receive airplay
Regardless of what Boogie D said during that interview Songz should have been happy that at least 1 person has been watching his show. The last time I checked, most people either don’t know that the show exists or they change the channel when they realise that it’s not a rerun of ‘Tiny & Toya’.

first thing i got to say even thou i am NOT a trey songz fan the interview didn’t come off that bad. He’s had worse (thatgrapejuice i not gonna talk to you & act like a jerk interview) but maybe that because the interviewer was buttering him up after he told him you acted like a jerk on TV (not his word). lol
Still when the DJ was asking him questions in the beginning he was signing stuff not really listening to what the guy was asking him, but when he heard something he didn’t like that when his ears prop up.
His comments about ‘I’m not gonna be somebody I’m not just for you to like me’ No one is asking him not to be himself but being yourself does not mean you have the right to be rude, defensive & act like a jerk, bad behaviour is childish & immature claiming that being rude is who you are is not adult behaviour.
He can try & sugar coat it all he wants but if you’re a artist who makes music for a living being liked is part of the job. being nice & kind is what makes you relatable who want to support a artist who is rude.
When his popularity fades & he’s not the hot guy of the moment that attitude is not gonna

The guy who said the show was negative is wrong and by mentioning that he wasnt a fan he was starting the drama, he coulda kept that to himself. Trey’s last album barely struck platinum which was due to shipements, he is nowhere near an international superstar. He’s doing really well now, but he needs to bring that cockiness down. How the hell is he the hottest out when Usher is smashing all over Urban/Pop radio. No one will replace R.Kelly/Usher period. Their places are cemented. So can all that. Chris messed up his own career, but he’s working things out. Trey killed Chris’s career yet Chris has the number 1 r&b song in the country. It makes alot of sense huh.
Trey needs to be humble. He does’nt have that much clout to act that way. He isn’t the best of singers either.

Let’s analyze this snippet of video from a different vantage point. Should the host / DJ be accountable for effective coverage? Not only does he unnecessarily put Trey on the defensive, but he also wasted a lot of interview time qualifying the question and justifying his stance. Wasted air time.
You don’t invite someone to your house and p*** this off. Trey needs the radio spot for promotion as much as the station needs him to garner listeners for its broadcast. After expressing his dislike for the show, the DJ’s dialogue becomes redundant and he appears to be apologizing — kissing ass.
I saw the episode that the DJ mentions, but I don’t think that it makes Trey look badly. It makes him look like the 20-something who is confronted by a mentor at a moment when he is not receptive to critiques. Yes, his performance — especially the singing — could have been better. And, yes, I support Kevin’s approach. He stayed on Trey to let him know that he was slipping and it was apparent in the performance. While Trey was dismissive, he later acknowledged the validity of Kevin’s statement. That one instance, however, does not cast an impression of who Trey Songz is as a person or an artist.
Lastly, I agree with Trey. Living your life or structuring it to pacify others is inauthentic. So, his job as an entertainer is to get people to recognize him and purchase his music. We don’t buy Trey the person; we purchase an image. If you don’t like, don’t consume it. Whatever you do, though, don’t fool yourself into believing that you know someone or can decide who they are because you know the lyrics to a joint, brought a CD, watched a television show, or tweeted the person on Twitter.
Get a life … or a book about interviewing tips.
I don’t know how to feel about this one, I mean, Trey never really seems to have the exact right thing to say in situations like these, but at the same time, the dj’s job isn’t necessarily to bash the artist in that type of form. To say you feel the show could have benefitted from what or what not would be different, but to go about it in the approach this dj did was wrong. And I am not a fan of Trey, but I’m not really taking a side, at least not on this one. Regardless, we all know there is a good chance the season will not return, that is unless BET wants to waste the money.

The whole point of a reality show is to show what he is really like. He’s allowed to speak to his manager and those around him how he wants, if they don’t like his attitude they can say. Everybody has days when they show attitude to those around them. In the episode he is being asked about, his performance went slightly wrong which is why he was in a bit of a mood.
I agree with Trey that it shouldn’t be edited to show him in a better light, and why should he fake himself when the cameras are on? I’m sure every other artist does the same, probably worse, but in front of the camera they sweeten up. This isn’t The Hills!

Trey has never been one to deliver articulate answers to questions or opinions so he speaks how he would in general (minus swearing).
I’m sure he has learnt some lessons since his terrible TGJ Interview and since then most his interviews have been decent.
He’ll always have that S** Egotisical Ladies Man persona but I can also say he has shown a lot of humbleness and respect with certain people and artist (Monica, Jay-Z etc..)
The R. Kelly rant didn’t help him and the TGJ interview REALLY didnt help him but nobody is perfect and we all have lessons to learn in life so im sure he’ll get better at coming across better in interviews eventually and also hopefully less arrogant at times (DJ’s kissing his ass like this one did be4 showing his true colours doesnt help though).
