New Song: Brandy, Ray J & Willie Norwood – ‘Talk To Me’

Published: Wednesday 24th Nov 2010 by Trent

Brandy and Ray J have teamed up with their father, Willie Norwood, for a new song entitled ‘Talk To Me’. The track is already on iTunes just in time for the Thanksgiving festivities. Listen to it below:

The trio certainly took things back to the peak of Brandy’s career – the 90’s – with this one. However, the vocal arrangement sounded a bit messy with Ray J & Willie a shouting confusingly over the melody in an almost conflicting manner. Nevertheless, as usual, Brandy kept things subtle and shined throughout.

Thanks to Hip-Hop N More for the record.

    @ Mariah floppy

so, unless you have an ilness, this post has nothing to do with a christmas album, mariah carey or susan boyle. i dont understand how you are so caught up in album sales or popularity, who cares, i bought merry christmas 2 you and it was a good christmas album, i also listened to susan boyles christmas album. sure the sales do matter in terms of financials, but you (the consumer should be buying music you like, not caring about the sales, let mariah’s management take care of it……F****** RELAX

  6. Teflon Boy November 24, 2010

  8. 2BAD2BME November 24, 2010

    YEEEESSS I MIIIISSS THIS BRANDY!

  9. KNUCK November 24, 2010

She sounds just like she did in 1998. I mean, do you understand the amount of talent required to give all of these different tones? she KILLED the arrangement on the chorus. Her voice is so beautiful in the beggining as she flutters effortlessly through the riffs.

I love the way her voice has grown so much, but this song is a bit of nostalgia. very welcomed!

I wonder if Brandy can still do her “baby whitney” vocals from her debut? I just love her so much.

  10. NikkiIsChillin November 24, 2010

This song is absolutely beautiful. Brandy and her father have such amazing voices. Ray j. Also sounds so mature and reflective. Its a hit.

  12. royalkev November 24, 2010

I’m glad they gave Brandy the hook. It’s pretty, Brandy sounds great. It sounds like a Never-say- Never track , but that’s a good thing since it’s her family’s song. It’s great for the holidays.

  13. MrIncredible November 24, 2010

Brandy sounds divine… the father and Ray J… not so much!

  19. royalkev November 24, 2010

@ Keona, so true Brandy’s voice does something to you on the inside. Ray J, does sound really good too and Willie has a very soothing voice as well.

@ DrFenty, really?… Concentrate on Riri’s album seeing platnium by next year and not having first week and album totals by Trey Songz and Ke$ha place higher that hers. She’s released 5 albums and still seems to be waiting for it to be her year. After all these damn era’s what will she be remembered as?… the girl in Beyonce’s shadows ? … The girl that dyed her hair red, like Janet (and failed at it)? … Oh, right 9 #1’s and matching the impact of Katy Perry (who will be a distant memory right along with her).

*Trandy (as you say) has arguably 3-4 classic albums. Rihanna’s just an average girl gone bad!

  29. Set it Straiter November 24, 2010

I really want that Never say Never tone on her new prioject… its where she shined the most IMO. And yes that is true artistry to be able to dive bk into different vocal tones and eras like that.. But i think the NEver Say Never tone should be taken in the next direction vocally…or atlest being the centre of it all..No matter what tone she chooses I Love her from
from the start and finish of the piano!!!!!!!!!

  30. TAMI November 24, 2010

Brandy sounds good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Nicee! Smh the only thing Rihanna would be known as is the Girl who kept getting her wig snatched!!!No one will remember RIhanna in 3 years tops. Lmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaao!!!@Dr.Fenty BOO BOO worry about your RIhanna’s who’s album is a FLOP and Nicki Minaj is set to sell more than her not about BRandy and her voice!Worry about Willow coming for her with her new single coming out!Worry about how weak her numbers are considering her huge fan base. Lmaaooo!GO BRANDY!

  31. ~aMaZiNG.Lee~ November 24, 2010

I freaking LOVE Brandy’s voice! Her tone is SOOOO soothing!

I despise Ray J and his ridiculous voice! But Willie sounds pretty good. Neither of them are on the level of Brandy, whatsoever!

I just love her, and I can’t wait to hear her new music! <3

  32. Ayo November 25, 2010

Love brandy her voice always does something to me, she can always take me to another level when it comes to her vocals and she allows me t remember that there are still artists out there with talent and real music. Ray J and Willie be sounding good to. I agree with everyone she needs to bring this never say never tone back, truly missed.

@ J Nova.. Angel in disguise is my favorite track on that album.. and when brandy was asked about her fav track on that album she did in fact say Angel in Disguise..just jope bangladesh can bring his magic to the table. 40. MellyMel November 25, 2010

Keep Brandy & Willie…remove Ray J…otherwise nice track

  41. Cameron November 25, 2010

I bought this song the first day. Its really nice. Its funny I thought Brandy’s voice evolved, but turns out she might have just been lazy because once your voice matures and gets deeper, its harder to tap into what you used to be able to do. Her Never Say Never voice is still in full effect. She will always be remembered for her harmonies. The chorus on this song is AWESOME man. Ray J hit an excellent note at the end with his dad (very surprising) Willie…well, he was aite too. Brandy bring the ballads like this on the next album but include great bangers. I know you can go Platinum on this next one, she has created a great buzz with Dancing WIth The Stars, as well as positive controversy cause we all know she shouldve stayed so I think she needs to take this publicity and RUN with it

  42. WD76 November 26, 2010

This song is beautiful and I cannot stop listening to it. I wish this was Brandy all by herself. I agree with many here, that Brandy went back to her old vocals on this one. I’d like to add that Brandy is such an underrated vocalist, and her background harmonies are some of the best I ever heard.

I’ve been a fan since her debut album back in 94, and as someone stated, she had “baby Whitney vocals” on that album. I hope her next album catches the essence of the vocals she displayed here. I missed this Brandy

  43. miss humble November 27, 2010

the engineer didn’t like brandy or the father at all, could have eqd her vocals better, take sum 12 k out.. Song would have been good if it was mixed right.!!!!
