I don’t care about any celebrity’s personal life! There talent and meanings in their songs is what I focus on. I love Monica, yes she may appear to have t all together in her personal life, but I love Fantasia as well, even though her personal life as been through the mug. Both are great entertainers, but, when it comes to talent, performance and getting your moneys worth at a concert, Fantasia wins hands down. Her album in my opinion was better than Monica’s. Don’t get me wrong, Monica’s album was good but Fantasia’s album is better. Fantasia may not have the numbers YET, but she is a talent that is placed in a category all by herself!!
By the way, Fantasia is not illiterate. She didn’t finish high school, but she went back and achieve her GED/High School Dipolma. Can’t say that for alot of artist. I don´t like most of the results but I think the main problem was the nominations. Some of them didn´t make sense.
Fantasia deserves some of the awards but Ciara?? Really? she should not be nominated for any type of award, at least this year. Same with Chris B. I know they are fabulous dancers, probably the best right now (I don´t care much about that) but their music?? Hell no. They have no voices and little musical skills compared to others. And I really thought the most important thing is the music, not the visual part.

You are not obligated to purchase a concert ticket to see Ashanti, as most Bingo casinos have an age limit.

Section B. – Brandy and Monica
Beyonce stans shall refrain from bringing up Brandy’s “spiritual union” or her string of flop albums. They were all great artistic achievements.
You will not say anything bad about Monica. Don’t nobody better say nothing bad about Monica! Monica ain’t neva done nothing to nobody! You know you like Monica. In your imagination Beyonce and Monica are best friends, and Beyonce is the godmother of Monica’s children, and Monica does Beyonce’s hair, usually with a ponytail on the right side, kinky twists on the left, a swoop bang in the front, and her name cornrowed in the back. And they go to clubs, outlet malls, and Waffle Houses together with Keyshia Cole and they all keep small handguns boxcutters in their purse in case s*** jumps off.

I like BOTH Fantasia and Monica. There albums are different. One is more soulful and the other is more contemporary. I like Jazmine Sullivan’s album too. It was hard picking between those three.
Monica, Fantasia and Jazmine all have top 10 hits but NONE have top POP hits. People who are familiar with Monica’s song will also know Fantasia and Jazmine’s songs. They didn’t chart too high on the hot 100 this go around. Celebrate all these ladies music and stop trying to put them up against each other. Celebrate the good R&B music they brought to the table this year.

Let’s not forget to mention that Fantasia competed with many great talents during the American Idol and she won, she was considered the best by the American people who voted for her to win. I do believe Ciara gave the best live perfomrances this year when you include her vocal improvements, dance routines and overall energy. Just watch her performances at Summer Jam, Big Jam, Summerbeatz and her Ellen, MoNique and Lopez performances, and I do think Basic Instinct was the most underrated album of the year in the sense that no one really gave it any attention. Is it a great album, no, I’ll give just an 8/10, but it was a huge improvement from Fantasy Ride, she co-wrote every song on the album, which a lot of those other females didn’t do, and Heavy Rotation, I Run It, Wants for Dinner and Turn It Up are, IMO, 4 of Ciara’s best songs and have the potential to be huge hits in 2011. Back to Me was not the Album of the Year, that belongs to Kanye, but Back to Me is much better than Still Standing, the 5 songs on that album that make Still Standing look foolish are Bittersweet, Teach Me, Collard Greens & Cornbread, Falling in Love Tonight and Trust Him. I think Ride deserved Video of the Year and Best Club Banger, because that song still gets the club rocking. It may not have been a #1 single, but it was, along with Bottoms Up, Deuces, No Hands and BMF the real 5 Club Bangers of 2010 without a doubt. I think Gaga will have the biggest year in 2011, not initially, because Bey and Brit are gonna rule when they first come out, but Gaga will have overall success. Hopefully Kelly, Ciara and Chris can come thru in 2011.

I disagree with you about Brandy & Monica. These 2 women have been doing this for 16 years. They’ve have successful careers with the amazing voices to match. Both have had their ups&downs in life, but they’ve come back on top, being better than they were before. Monica has had a wonderful year with her “Still Standing” album, and is going to release two albums next year. Brandy was beyond amazing on “Dancing With The Stars”, and is going to release an album next year. They are here to stay, but other than that you were on point. 😀

I see people going back and forth about Tasia and Monica, and I will say that as far as success is concerned, you can’t compare Fantasia, who came out in the 2000s, to Monica, who has been out since the 90s. Of course Fantasia hasn’t sold as many albums as Monica! Hello!
1. Monica’s been out longer
2. Because of the amount of time she’s been out, she has attracted a large audience over the years.
3. People don’t buy albums now, like they did in the 90s
4. R&B was more universal in the 90s than what it is now. If you had a great song, you would not be shunned from pop radio because it was an R&B song. When you have real singers like Monica and Fantasia, both of them are not doing as well as the pop/contemporary R&B singers. BOTTOM LINE: Considering the time we’re in right now, BOTH Fantasia and Monica are doing pretty damn well!

Both are great artist and talented and have different vocal abilities and range. You might think Fantasia is better but hun that is your opinion. That will top her total of 255k last week and bring her cumulative sales to a warming 2.9 million.
Columbia’s Susan Boyle will remain at #2 with The Gift logging in another 250-275k, bringing her total to 1.9 million and counting.
The Top 5 will be rounded out by a trio of Sony Music acts, giving Rob Stringer’s team a whopping four of them (and Steve Barnett’s Columbia three), including Epic’s posthumous Michael Jackson album and a pair of Columbia releases in Glee Cast Christmas and Jackie Evancho, with all three in the 140-160k range.
The week’s top debut goes to yet another Sony act, this one from outgoing chief Barry Weiss’ RCA/Jive Label Group team in Jamie Foxx’s J/RMG release, Best Night of My Life, bowing at #6.
Geffen’s Keyshia Cole album, Calling All Hearts, notches the only other Top 10 debut at #9 sporting an estimated total of 120-140k, with Def Jam/IDJ’s Rihanna at #7 (130-150k), Young Money/Cash Money/Universal Motown’s Nicki Minaj at #8 (120-140k) and Shady/Aftermath/Interscope multiple Grammy nominee Eminem’s resurgent Recovery rounding out the Top 10 (120-140k).
Interscope’s Keri Hilson debuts just outside at #11 with 90-110k, followed by Reprise’s Josh Groban, Jive/JLG’s R. Kelly, Atlantic’s Kid Rock and Capitol/EMI’s Katy Perry completing the Top 15, all slated to sell between 90-100k apiece.
