The video for Nicole Scherzinger‘s latest single ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’ premiered a few moments ago.

Ever so applicable here is the age old adage: if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. Having actually enjoyed the original version of the song, I’m not quite sure what her team were attempting with this version; whatever it was, it falls all the way flat.
More autotune, with a cheaper Electro-Pop beat flung on, this latest incarnation the song takes away from what otherwise is a decent enough video.
For as talented as Nicole is, things just don’t seem to be aligning for her when most needed. I mean when not the video, it’s the song. When not the song, it’s the video; and so on and so forth.
For her sake, this needs to catch on regardless; creating leeway for the (fingers crossed) better handling of her next release. Sigh.

and btw, the “original version” is the same version in the video. i knew by reading your blogs about Nic, that you believe that she is of pure talent but you really havent liked anything that came out. maybe youre wanting something like her Power’s Out or Save Me Myself.. but the girl and her management chose what they think will ‘sell’, which imo they are on the right track.

Well I liked it, she looks stunning. As for the song it’s a good POP record that I think well do well in Europe.
Thought it was very good, obviously they listened to her fans when they changed it back to how the Demo sounded…

I THINK THIS IS HER BEST VIDEO YET. NOT THE BEST THING AROUND, COULD’VE BEEN BETTER. BUT IT WAS REALLY GOOD.
WHEN SHE WAS WALKING IN THE DARK ROOM WITH THE WINDOWS OPEN THE VIDEO HAD AN 80S VIBE I WISH IT HAD REFLECTED ON THE REST OF THE VIDEO.
This version of the song has a much greater chance for success…In my humble opinion… They also cleaned up some of her vocals as well! Best effort from her in quite some time!

Does she have a audience really ?? I feel kind of sad for her cause you can tell she is trying so hard to have a solo career but for some reason it’s just not working. Her songs are way too wack ! she’s of interest only for a small fan base. But the case of this girl is really strange cause people seemed to love PCD when obiously is was more Nicole and her back up dancers and now that that she just make it official as a solo artist it is not working ! Strange
