Really hope that she capitalises on the fact she has a show and releases the album soon after.
Think Brandy just gotta take the plunge and not be so cautious.
I definitely embrace that she is a versatile artist and there is more to her than just urban, however she NEEDS to hit her core audience 1st before broadening the sound.
We need a killer ballad or a relatable good vibe track to bring her back in and then build from that.
LET’S GET THE BALANCE RIGHT and then maybe try a crossover track on the 3rd single or something.

I love her so much but she’s so strict with herself.While I appreciate her honesty (she’s one of the VERY VERY few artists that would admit her work underperformed largely), I still think that she’s way too strict.I like that she’s putting so much passion into her album, but if she thinks this is her last opportunity, then maybe it’s too much pressure.So, she needs to relax A BIT.

WHAT NETWORK WILL BE AIRING THIS ? I really want to watch it. Brandy is such an endearing young woman. She is one of the three young ladies in my ‘League of Extraordinary Young Female Artist’ (that I GREW UP listening to). Brandy, Monica and Kelly Rowland are the three young pop/r&b stars that give me reason to believe there’s hope for mainstream music. I really respect them. It would be amazing if all three of them came together to collaborate; something sanz “Heartbreak Hotel” like what Whitney, Faith and Kelly P. did back in the day. That would be awesome. You just don’t see/hear duets or singers collaborating with other singers any more. One of my favorite songs on Kelly Rowland’s sophomore album Ms.Kelly was “The Show” because it was a duet with a fellow SINGER. Tank (the crooner) produced and featured on the song, and that sound (two voices blending on record) was such a throwback. I really appreciated it. Now-a-days every body wants to throw a rapper on their track (even Kelly). I hope Brandy does go for a true-to-form, soulful, r&b album because that’s where she excells vocally. I hope she collaborates with other SINGERS not just what ever rapper’s hot at the moment. I can’t wait to see/hear what she’s going to bring.

And by the way, HUMAN WAS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF 2008. It may not have been a commercial phenomenon, but it was and is a timeless, classic work of art. I’m SO happy I bought it and I hope that Brandy’s attitude toward it has changed because it is in my opinion the best album ( stylistically and content-wise) of her career. It’s a shame more people didn’t get to hear it.

When Brandy says she needs to go back to her roots her roots ARE R&B!!! Yes, of course, she has made music that has crossed over but it was R&B. Brandy has always had that crossover appeal. Brandy’s vocal ability is unmatched. She truly is an Icon that has molded a generation of singers and producers and songwriters. She is legendary and one of the few talents to dominate televion, music and movies. This is gonna be real BIG, and Beyonce usually would dominate during her release year but because of her music choices for 4, Brandy will shut the R&B game down. Her vocal runs, inflections, and all out rockin over top the chorus style is gonna put some feeling back into music that we have been longing for. R&B is on its way back and Brandy’s gonna usher in the movement. On top of that she’s gonna be on Lifetime and other TV projects. (by the way BRAN /Domo/Anybody…if you reading this hit me up I have some ideas for you , ie to guest star on Single Ladies since you and Latifah go way back.). Everyone in the industry honestly is patiently waiting on her projects, I have heard producers show excitement and anticipation! she needs to realize how much respect she has in the industry… If she wanted to she could make a phone call her self to the new/veteren artists currently on billboard hot and ask to do a feature/2nd verse suprise performance. ie, novacane by frank ocean is so hot right now and brandy comin in on a 2nd version rippin and runnin it would be a great anticipation move for her single/album release Ok im sorry , but I really care about her career too (hire me) .
