Still, her lack of commitment to an image, sound, or vocal coach haven’t hindered her cause; for ‘Love’ is her 6th UK chart-topper. And with her forthcoming LP ‘Talk That Talk’ serving as her 6th studio album in as many years, the 23 year old has, on average, had #1 single per project, per year she’s been out. Deserved? No. Impressive, still? You bet.

Congratulations! I just think WFL is a piece of garbage, it’s her worst single to date. I miss the GGGB and Rated R era, she was cool and had an identity. Today she’s just doing the most basic, plain, made-by-number songs.
And since Pitbull’s Give Me Everything topped the charts everywhere (including US and UK) I stopped to care about it. I have no concern on what’s the currently #1 hit, because I know it’s totally horrible.

4 struggling to sell 1 million is bad considering that all Beyoncé’s albums sold at least 3 million in US, that’s a huge accomplishment and it’s very hard keep this rate. Rihanna hasn’t had a multi-platinum album without the help of re-release. A 3x Platinum plaque will be a thing neither Rihanna nor Katy Perry will ever see in their entire career.
4 won’t sell as much as her other albums, but it has already sold over 50% of what Loud and Teenage Dream did in US only few months and without major hit. (TD and Loud haven’t sold together as much as any other Beyoncé’s album in US).
I think in the end of the era, 4 will end up selling around 3 million in the entire world. It’s ‘bad’ because Beyoncé’s standards are kinda high, but it isn’t the ‘flop’ that some delusional Rihanna’s stans think.

Uk taste for singles is really poor usually. So it´s not that big achievement. I mean some of the artists with more number ones on the UK singles chart are Westlife or Spice Girls. So no real talent. Sometimes is so hard to understand how they can export such great and legendary musicians (Beatles, RS, Coldplay, Adele, Amy and many more) and at the same time eat all these crap fast food music they like so much (Rihanna, all those boy bands ala JLC or whatever their name is, even one of the biggest flops of all time called Nicole from the PD has achieved succes on the UK singles charts). At least the UK album chart seems to be a little bit more consistent.

i get what your saying but look at it like this, you get a #1 album. what does that actually do for the artist if the album itself doesn’t even sell more than a couple million. no shade to britney but she got a #1 album, look at its sells, beyonce passed her in like 3 weeks and 4 was released like 3 months later! again no shade to brit brit becaues i love her. another thing is that anyone can get a #1 album, if rihanna’s label would postpone the album for at least 2 more weeks there is no doubt it would be #1 because no other big artist are coming out at that time. a #1 album is as simple as picking the right week to release it. in fact the lowest #1 album was 55,000 first week. so you can see what i mean by a #1 album doesn’t really mean anything anymore.

i get what your saying but look at it like this, you get a #1 album. what does that actually do for the artist if the album itself doesn’t even sell more than a couple million. no shade to britney but she got a #1 album, look at its sells, beyonce passed her in like 3 weeks and 4 was released like 3 months later! again no shade to brit brit becaues i love her. another thing is that anyone can get a #1 album, if rihanna’s label would postpone the album for at least 2 more weeks there is no doubt it would be #1 because no other big artist are coming out at that time. a #1 album is as simple as picking the right week to release it. in fact the lowest #1 album was 55,000 first week. so you can see what i mean by a #1 album doesn’t really mean anything anymore.

i get u too but i think its unfair to discredit number 1 albums cus of sales. jus the way the navy would say a no1 single is still no 1 even if it was there for 1 week only. Britney is now recognised as being the only woman to have her 1st 5 albums debut at no 1 and 1st artist under 30 to have 6 no 1s too so they are achievements on their own. 1 anybody can get a number 1 album but not everybody gets it. i think it would even be harder for Rih to get a no1 in Dec, big sellers like Alicia and MJB did that once and were both blocked by heavy hitters. the way i see it is they either release her album in time for holiday rush o release later in the year and risk even poorer sales.
as for the 55,000 record, it’s Taylor Swift’s and she’d spent several weeks at no1 with that album she dint debut with that figure but u have to admit, Rih should have had a no1 by now, 3 of her albums were preceeded by no 1 singles, other 2 had top tens and so wil the new one. her 1st 3 were released mid -year and it dint happen either but considering her overall success no 1 album is only a small thing. regardless, i reckon it will stil get mentioned anyways
