Hot Shot: Madonna’s Daring New Fragrance Ad

Published: Friday 23rd Dec 2011 by Rashad

Pop potentate Madonna moves to join the long list of divas daring to foray into fragrance.  Joining Madge’s ‘Material Girl’ fashion line, this collection, ‘Truth or Dare’, borrows its title from Madge’s famed 1991 tour documentary that (at the time of its release) was the biggest of its kind and still ranks in the top ten most successful documentaries of all time.  If its fragrant followup will follow in such steps has yet to be seen.  But what can be seen is the ‘Ray Of Light’ songstress beaming in the new ad making its rounds in print and web.

The ad’s reveal comes shortly after news that despite nabbing a nomination at the 2012 Golden Globes for her song ‘Masterpiece’ (featured on we directorial effort ‘W.E.’), the song did not qualify for nomination at the Academy Awards.  Another music monarch, however, may walk away with the gold – Mary J. Blige.

Your thoughts?

    Old news, anyway her Madgesty looks fierce, the problem for “Masterpiece”, which isn’t featured in the context of the film itself and also happens to be the second song featured during the movie’s closing crawl. (The first being a continuation of composer Abel Korzeniowski’s score.)
    This are the rules of the Academy’s Best Original Song:
    1- Consist of words and music, both of which are original and used specifically for the film.
    2-Be used either in the body of the film, or as the “first music cue” in the closing credits (i.e. the first song that plays once the screen fades to black).
    this is why “Masterpiece” was not nominated to the Oscars.
    Madge is once again being denied the opportunity to add “Oscar nominee/winner” to her substantial list of accomplishments. they know the song is good enought to win an Oscar but the Academy hate Madonna but Madonna is a masterpiece with or without an Oscar, This is just ridiculous, they make any excuses to never recognize her work, if she wouldn’t be the biggest female singer in the world today, she would win an Oscar but the beautiful ones always have to pay a price for her high status.

    We often see pics of Madonna go to and from the gym, sans make-up and messy hair, but when she cleans up and puts on make-up the Queen of Pop is also the Queen of Cougars. Very s***

    The Academy doesnt like or hate anyone.. they really dont care. Madonna should go with these rules if she really wants to win an oscar. thats it 😀 these rules were not made for Madonna not to win an award!

    Those are the rules and that´s it. Many great songs featured in soundtracks couldn´t be nominated for the oscars cos of that same rule. It´s not a conspiration
    And I think she won an oscar for a song from Evita in 1997, so don´t know why Madonna fans should be angry about it
    The pic is great! But is that her???

    she has already enjoyed her peak so why come back? ladies at the same age just sits and thinks about their accomplishments in life but with madonna coming again? b**** she need a stadium full of seats!

    LOrd u’re an incredible now i know why they dont let commoners on academy boards. U think Britney n Jlo deserve grammys and Madonna should have an oscar. I dont think u respect those honours. Like u said, jus something for ur favs add to their list of accolades. I wish u’d start thinking more objectively as u grow older. U seem like a true music advocate with an eclectic taste but pls u have to realise these bodies do not exist to reward fame. Yea Madonna is probably d most famous popstar living but some of us know how she got there. U ‘ll probably pining for Rihanna to win an oscar too right?

    @bey´knight
    Be nice! lol
    I suppose he wants Madonna to win an oscar for best song, not as an actress 🙂 But I know what you mean. Merry Xmas!

  18. bey’knight December 24, 2011

    @Johndival

    lol i guess but he wants her to win it just cause she’s Madonna. he reacted like they suddenly changed the rules to sabotage her. i thin he’s smart enough to know better. the biggest appraisal women like M and Brit can ask for is popularity which they already have in abundance. if it was based on talent Christina would be more accomplished than Britney. Now if an xtina fans says she deserves more grammys, thats understandable

    @bey’knight
    I think the song should be nominated not her as an Actress, we al know the only good movie Madonna did was Evita, i think she has some points in her career when she really works hard and put out the best she can do like her film W.E., her work as a director was perfect, i’m the first to admit it, when she does something that i don’t like but when she really shine i’m here to support her as a fan. Is ok if the song is not nominated but at leats she deserve a nomination for best director, i don’t ask for more. as for Rihanna i don’t think in her as an Actress, she can’t do movies but she has to prove that she is good, i’m very ambition with movies star my favorites are Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift, Paul Newman, Alpacino, Bette Davis, Angelina jolie and Johnny Depp.

    I love the pic but we all know the Queen make sure all her pictures are retouched before came out and she has man arms + before every red carpet she injects Botox in her face, anyway you gotta love her to still being a B**** at her age.

  21. bey’knight December 24, 2011

    @onyx

    u really think madge deserves an oscar nod for her 2nd directorial outing? have u read the reviews. personally i think its an insult to the art that madonna thinks she can tell actors what to o when she takes directions poorly herself. this is not one of her monopolistic concert shows. shoulda left ir ro the experts luckily she has the financial backing

  22. Big Fan December 26, 2011

    Madonna sang “You Must love Me” which won an oscar for best song
    Madonna won a Goden Globe for Evita too.
    She needs no accolades
    She is a mega star until 5000 sumthin…..
