NO NO NO! I love Brandy…but Whitney has an incredible story that needs to be told with an incredible actress. I don’t want a singer to play Whitney. I want a true actress and for them to lip sync cos NO ONE will ever be able to replicate that voice in it’s prime. Arista has tons of unheard live performances, so it won’t be a problem.
Also Whitney’s story is not yet finished…a biopic can wait at least another 15-20 years minimum. I’ve already planned the opening and ending scene for Whit’s biopic…it needs time lol!

@TRISTAN I did not. But Brandy is basic as an actress, for Whitney’s story I want a young actress on the level of Anne Hathaway (or better hopefully). I know that Whitney wants her daughter to play her…I hope that doesn’t happen.
I love Brandy. I absolutely adore her and her voice is phenomenal, however, I am not sure how she would do playing a role of such magnitude. I mean this would be big and I just don’t see her pulling this off the way that it would need to be pulled off. But I could be wrong. I mean I flipped tables and kicked chairs when I heard Beyonce was playing Etta James and she did great.

@SAM, Brandy’s a great actress and I’m sure if she’d studied a lot of Whitney interviews and performances, she’d be incredible. Megan Good is who is basic, but I don’t doubt that she’d be able to pull it off.

Brandy would be great for the role. Whoever plays the role would be lip syncing so it is about acting. Brandy early 90’s gave me Whitney vibe until she found her own style. Meagan Good is not a great actress and I do not see Monica playing that role. Plus, Whitney loves Brandy. There is a reason why she picked her as Cinderella over the other young stars during that time.

Just a thought/opinion. Michelle Williams of (DC) would be a much better choice and greater protrayl of Whitney Houston all the way down to the voice/sound. If this movie is done, this role should go to non other than Michelle Williams of Destiny Child Group.
I honestly say Kelly Rowland. Call me crazy, but her tone is similar to that of a younger whitney. Ofcourse her vocals aren’t as great as Whit’s but I can see her pulling that role off greatly. Whomever it may be gone have to bring that heat though!

I know they have, but lately they’ve been really going in on these titles. LOL
And it was misleading because the way it read, one would think that a biopic was in the work. Brandy was just talkin out the side of her neck. LOL
If Rihanna get acting chops and work on her accent, she could BE THE ONE TO PULL OFF WHITNEY!
Rihanna resembles Whitney alot (especially prime Whitney), and she has an eccentric loveable diva factor about like Whitney. They’re both undeniably GORGEOUS and Rihanna may just surprise us all!

I agree with Sam – it’s too soon for a Whitney biopic. Her story is still unfolding, and I’m still hoping that her once awe inspiring voice will resurface to thrill her legions of fans.
Monica would be the best for this role. Not only can she sing as Whitney, she has the look and the body type of Whitney. They both have that smile and the eyes.
