Rihanna Reveals Next Single/Artwork

Published: Tuesday 10th Jan 2012 by Rashad

Despite finding much love atop Billboard charts with monster hit ‘We Found Love’, the follow up single ‘You Da One’ and parent album ‘Talk That Talk’ were unable to boast similar successes.  Though still (barely) afloat in the chart ranking’s upper half, Rihanna and team have decided to go back to the drawing board to boost the not-so-lovely sales of her sixth album.  In what comes as a commendable bid, Fenty has enlisted a former co-star to join her for her third lift from the 2011 set.

Taking to Twitter to lend the announcement moments ago, this one is sure to have fans talking!  Find out what after the jump:

We gotta give it to Riri on this one, the track is certified heat!  A great follow up to the two’s first collabo ‘Umbrella’, ‘Talk’ works as a sure-fire appeal to her often overlooked Urban audience as well as her solidified pop standing.  Already amassing nearly 6 million views on the singer’s official Youtube page (with just audio alone), the hints that this was next have clearly been there for a while.  Suit this one up with a hot video and Rihanna may have found the Savior for the musical coaster that is ‘Talk That Talk’.

Now if only we could find a Savior from those vocals.  Tsk…one step at a time we suppose.

Your thoughts?

smashhhhh then where have you been will destroy them hkoz omg

You da one is clearly a buzz single. no promo no performance nothing o well

  2. Asha January 10, 2012

Noooooooo! Why would she pick this song when there are songs on the album that would have been perfect singles! Uuuggghh I need to be on her team

  3. ChristinasCOMING January 10, 2012

The only song I liked is Roc Me Out.

But I don’t think even Jay Z will help this songs chart performance in the US. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It happened to Nelly and Kelly…it can happen to Jay and Ri.

  4. WHUT January 10, 2012

Good 3rd single. Would’ve preferred it as the second but it will do well as a third. Save ‘Where Have you been’ for the 4th to kill everything in sight.

  5. kimberly January 10, 2012

you da one buzz single? lmao. oh ok.

  6. rnbxclusive January 10, 2012

L.A. Reid is making things happen for Ciara. “Watch and Learn” is reportedly Rihanna’s 4th single and the song’s producer Hit Boy revealed Ciara will be featured on it! The video will be shot in early Feb. This is huge for Ciara, and L.A.’s close ties to both ladies made it happen.

  7. gdboyratedloud January 10, 2012

kimberly b**** sit on a knife, pull it out, then lick it clean, thatll be the taste in ya mouth after the queen continues her reign… yew madT?

  8. number1k9 January 10, 2012

I KNEWWWW it would be “Talk That Talk.”

Just heard it on KAMP FM AKA AMP Radio in LA. . .

  9. mesa January 10, 2012

You da one was a buzz single??? Lol! That’s funny. Anyway I Like that song. I see they hurried up and released that third single, you da one didn’t do as well everyone expected it to be.

  10. LindseyMari January 10, 2012

@rnbxclusive I hope this is true. I think RiRi and CiCi would sound pretty good together on that song actually.

  11. WHUT January 10, 2012

@RNBexclusive f*** outta here. Post me a source or its b******* bae. WHYB BETTA be the 4th or I’ll slap that bald b**** till he sprouts hair.

    TTT!!! <3

  13. JJFAN1814 January 11, 2012

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN WILL BE ONE OF 2012’S BIGGEST HITS!!!!

  14. Girrrl January 11, 2012

I know no Beyonce stans are in here talking trash when you da one peaked higher (#14).than all of.Beys 4162723 singles from 4. And I know they not talking about buzz singles when that’s the term they use when a single doesn’t hit the top 20 ie 1+1 countdown etc

Talk that talk is a great follow up single. Then Where Have you been. I don’t like that song but the rest of the navy does and it should smash.

  15. Bey Fan… January 11, 2012

I like Talk That Talk….the urban radio will eat this up

  16. Jay Scorpio January 11, 2012

  17. OCEAN January 11, 2012

She is a beautiful girl…I love her…TGJ always pick good pics of her. Modeling & Fashion is her calling…not so much music (eventhough I LOVE her songs)

  18. Rihanna Stans = Broke Navy January 11, 2012

Dreadful choice. She’s already on her third single and just barely scanning past the 500 mark. I see a re-release coming up

  19. MISHKA January 11, 2012

Are we still talking about this album?

  20. Jordan January 11, 2012

About damn time! SMH I like You Da One, but it should not have ever been released.

Talk That Talk was clearly the best second single choice. It even charted at like 30 something the week the album was released!

She should have released it a few weeks prior to the album, it would have boosted her first week sales the same way that What’s My Name did. She neglected her urban audience this time around but glad to see that it’s being fixed!

  21. Boo! January 11, 2012

THANK F***! I don’t know why You Da One was released, one of the worst songs on the album. This song is gonna slay, and the fact that it climbed into the top tier of the top 20 on iTunes from album downloads alone is a big indication. I mean, the song f****** claimed a spot in the top 40 on the UK singles chart on downloads alone. This is clearly a good choice. Where Have You Been next and it’s a wrap, she will annihilate some b******!

  22. dang January 11, 2012

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AAWAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!
I want Where Have You Been!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. kayla January 11, 2012

where have you been would! do horrible, sounds too much like we found love

i think her single order should have been
    1. we found lo!ve
    2. roc me out
    3. do ya thang
    4. we all want love
    5. farewell
    6. talk that talk ft. jay-z
    7. you da one

    promos
    1. birth!day cake
    2. red lipstick
    then she need a break…4real

  24. Lax January 11, 2012

    SMART TEAM.

now the world is buzzin over Jay-z and his daughter ” IVY Blue” and her team want some of that .

    EXPECTED !!!

but WHYB would have been just PERFECT. 😡

i don’t know how the song will do. but Jay-z’s name will carry this s*** ! hopefully more than a TOP 20 hit !

and the single cover is UGLY ! she has better promo-pics in TTT promo pics !

why she will pick this one where she looks like a jobless “plumber” ?!! 😡 WTF ?!

  27. Yellow Gorillah January 11, 2012

    YAAAAAAAAAAAAAS Thank YOU!!

I Love how she asked her FANS what should be the next single,,and she choose right this why I lpve her.

This should have been the SECOND SIngle but third will have to do. THE UK will EAT This UP!!! I Hope it has a CUTE Video. I see a Top Ten coming soon

4TH Single should and WILL be Where Have You Been That single is going to DESTROOOOOOOOOOY the chart’s I don’t think people understand. WFL Was CUTE But WHUB Is a WIG SNATCHING CHART SLAYING Single waiting in it’s CAVE Ready to slay.

Then she can give us a Cockiness/ Birthday Cake promo single..

Then 5TH Single should be DRUNK ON LOVE OR WE ALL WANT LOVE

End Era with Roc Me OUT!

  28. Roman January 11, 2012

Really hope she releases “Where Have You Been” soon. That song is a guaranteed #1 if she releases. I think We All Want Love is the weakest song on the album but it would chart well. A full version of Birthday Cake might be the 4th single.

  29. Royalkev January 11, 2012

I have to say that I’m completely mystified as to why this single choice is predicted to be the album’s savior. It’s not a bad song, but it’s nothing special. It reminds me of Rated R’s ‘So Hard’. Both singles were decent, but didn’t have smash hit written all over them. I haven’t heard TTT (the album) since it’s debut week, but from what I can remember the standouts were: ‘Roc Me Out’ and ‘Cockiness’ (which seem to be a little ‘Feedback’ inspired), along with 1 more that I can’t think of at the moment. The artwork for TTT’s single cover is just okay. I just don’t think this will go very far. I have to listen to this ‘Where have you been’, because I don’t remember that being so much of this great creation either. I think Rih is picking all the wrong songs!

  30. Bey’knight January 11, 2012

Rihanna releasing an urban single. No bueno, she doesnt have much urban fanfare hence BET barely acknowledge her but then again neither does Mtv but thats besides the point. Raining men was sent to radio twice n still dint do well albeit Nicki’s buzz. She shd really stick to her working formula. Urban market dont buy singles n they wont buy rihanna’s album. Some White ppl will get her to platinum n d rest will save their money for her singles. There’s a new one every 2 months anyways n if u think WHYB will do better than wfl, u outta yo mind. When has her subsequent single ever done better than her first? Never!

  31. SLAYFANISTANN. January 11, 2012

    :deadbanana:

Man,I want her to release Birthday Cake. That song is just the PERFECT twerk song.

Also.I don’t get the excess love towards WHYB….
    That song is nothing special.

Watch N Learn>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>WHYB AND We Found Love

(Also Drunk on Love should be a single)

  32. Remey January 11, 2012

This is obviously the right choice to revive Talk That Talk, but I was hopelessly wishing she would release Cockiness. But anywayz…

I love Where Have You Been, but not as a 2nd single. It resembles WFL too much. I think Talk That Talk should have actually been the 2nd single from a PR standard. She could have rode on the hype of Jay-Z with all the attention on him because of the baby….not to mention the song is just plain good.

Where Have You Been should have been the 3rd single…but just place it after Talk That Talk now. I think Cockiness has the potential to be another S&M for Rih if done correctly.

You Da One was a good single but the video was the absolute killer for this song. The song had much hype, and a good video would have reinforced it…but it was so lackluster.

  33. aishaaguilerakeys January 11, 2012

Not suprised. I like this album, though.

  34. JohnVidal January 11, 2012

My God another generic crap song??? I didn´t bother listening to this song before and seeing it was one of her fans favorite I thought it would be a little better. And oh surprise, another fake collaboration!!!!!!! Yay, her fans will be happy. It seems they like all these things this girl´s label does

  35. JP January 11, 2012

Prefer Where Have You Been or Watch and Learn over this. This song doesn’t really crank in the club the way the other two do.

Anything to make Jay – Z feel relevant again, I guess.

  36. Minajesty January 11, 2012

this and “we found love” were the only decent songs on the album.

  37. mariama January 11, 2012

Love anything from you Ri Ri.

  38. Dunk January 11, 2012

I guess we all have different taste< I think You Da One is a brilliant track one of my all time faves from her, i'm not a big fan of the song Talk, but i agree that it's deffo single material and right now with Jay Z all over the press it's a sure fire no.1 Where Have You Been will be the biggest single of this year though, watch this space! the album is brilliant!

  39. Jay Jay January 11, 2012

Smart choice I just hope the video of this is nice cuz I played the f*ck out of this song lol.

The album is kinda played out though :/

  40. ♛ pop royalty ♛ ( The BeyHive ) January 11, 2012

    @ISTAn4GAGA :

    i agree !

Birthday cake and Watch ‘n’ Learn Are the best Tracks in TTT.

but WHUB is WFL’s fierce alter ego. it is her in her safest zone. so her fans who like her being in #1 in Billboard basic b****** charts will adore it and show it excess love as what u said.

plus it is kind of song that is both Club-friendly and Radio-friendly , 2 in 1 ! and rihanna is all about radio-friendly singles and hits. so …

no wonders her fans will like WHUB that much 😉 ! and to add to that Watch ‘n’ Learn will do just like “YDO” ! maybe a lil better than it if it’s accompanied vid is something fresh like “RB” , “WMN” or even “OG” !!!

so now we will see how ” TTT” will do !!! 😡 ! hope it won’t get overshadowed by WFL as “YDO” did

TTT ” the single” : rihanna in her safest zone ! u can safely call it “WMN” part 2. but with a bigger feat. than drake ! 😡

Why are people complaining about Talk That Talk being the Third single?

WHUB Could not be the third single because it has to much connection with WFL Their both kinda pop/house and people will think that’s what the album is full of.

And I swear some people where saying rihanna is a sell out and how she is NOT RNB But last time I checked TALK THAT TALK is one of her MOST Urban album since AGLM. I think TTT Is a great single choice is appeals to her urban fans and it has that pop cross over factor and JAY-Z Has a lot of hype right now with his new baby it will do well. It’s already charting in some places.

4th single should be WHUB For summer and tto boost the album sales then cockiness, Drunk On Love, Watch N Learn and We all want love.

Even if ALL The singles don’t go #1 the album will still go on to sell 4million+ Rated R only had ONE #1 Single and it still pulled 3million. TALK THAT TALK is already at 2million in 3 months so everything is good.

Th eonly mistake was You Da One becoming a single =S

YOU ARE A SINGLES ARTIST SO LETS NOT BLOW THE FORMULA OUT NOW! TTT is gonna flop like it’s parent album! it’s one of the weakest on the album!(not even DADDY-Z and his buzz coz of BABY BLUE is gonna save this, but i see why you chose this as a single choice 😉 ) stop the nonsense and release the most decent(WHYB) of the 4 only decent songs on this FLOP album and do us all the favour of not having to DRAG the YAWN-vy so hard coz of floppage!!

  57. laos January 11, 2012

u dummies dont understand that you da one was released when ‘we found love’ was dominating worldwide, the video was cheap it was obviously for the fans and a different audience, it was a holdover until the next single, if talk that talk was released second it wouldnt reach its potential because it would have been overshadowed by ‘wfl’ ot vice versa, besides shes trying to make a dent in 2012 not the end of 2011! anyway talk that talk will dominate!!! where have you been should be next, then watch n learn, next drunk on love, cockiness and finally farewell

Talk that Talk should do well but, its not the livel on Run this Town and now where Close to Umbrella…So im not sure if it will be the big Jay-Z collabo she is looking for? Rihanna doesn’t really have an urban audience so who knows if urban radio will play her s***.
Her career is really iffy right now because she keeps on teetering the line with dance pop and urban pop and so she doesnt have a distinctive fan base for her singles…Hence why Man Down didnt do as well as it should have…if Talk that Talk doesn’t reach at least top ten status Rihanna may have officially lost her “urban” audience which will not fare well for her once Euro-trash pop is dead and gone…

Why are they rushing a 3rd single when she hasn’t done any promo for YOU DA ONE? She’s off tour now so book a few appearances on tv shows to prop up the single. It seems like they just expect her singles to rise to the top without putting work in to help promote them.

It’s a given (to me) that TALK THAT TALK & WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN will do well both are catchy tracks.

  68. MISS HILL January 11, 2012

    @rihanna
Now, now how come your talk turn cold
Gained the whole world for the price of your soul
Tryin’ to grab hold of what you can’t control
Now you’re all floss, what a sight to behold
Wisdom is better than silver and gold
I was hopeless now I’m all hopeful
Every man want to act like he’s exempt
When him need to get down on his knees and repent
Can’t slick talk on the day of judgment
Your movement’s similar to a serpent
Tried to play straight, how your whole style bent?
    Consequence is no coincidence
Hypocrites always want to play innocent
Always want to take it to the full out extent
Always want to make it seem like good intent
Never want to face it when it’s time for punishment
I know that you don’t wanna hear my opinion
But there come many paths and you must choose one
And if you don’t change then the rain soon come
See you might win some but you just lost one

  71. AYNON January 11, 2012

good choice she needs good promo and this song will smash… although its not very pop more rnb/hip hoppy, cant see it doing well anywhere but the US….

release Talk that Talk as the 3rd US single and Where Have You Been as the 3rd International Single.

  73. Aunt Jackie January 11, 2012

I actually don’t like this song at all. It’s boring as hell. ‘You Da One’ was a pretty good song but the snoozer video killed it’s chances. I’d be surprised if it does well, unless the video is great. That whole album is dead if you ask me….

  74. Danny January 11, 2012

Jay-Z may be all over the press but for the wrong reasons. They are still talking about them taking over the entire floor at that hospital & what they did to the other parents. Jay right now is getting negative feedback all over the web & the media. So this being Rihanna next single is the wrong choice.

Also I really don’t like this song it is missing something

  75. Danny January 11, 2012

If and I say if Ciara do a song with Rihanna I will not buy it. All this s*** about Ciara on this site and now because she may do a combo with Rihanna it’s ok now. B*******!!!! Lets see if the two faced Navy will buy it.

  76. zed January 11, 2012

talk that talk is ok, nothing specia…you the one is a terribe record. should have released the best song on the album (and only due to it using the sample of the xx song ‘intro’…drunk on love! apparently she has another album due out en d of the year!!! wtf!!!!

  77. JER January 11, 2012

I LOVE IT! That’s how you throw a little shade, ThatGrapeJuice. Too much shade is MESSY, especially from yal about Rihanna. Perfect amount of shade. LOVE IT

PS i’m sorry but that single cover is a little cheap looking.

  78. R****** Navy Fails Again!! January 11, 2012

SMH! It’s like R******’s team want her to fail at this point! I see the R****** Navy is just lying to themselves and kissing her non singing ass AGAIN! This is a HORRIBLE single choice! Even worse than that horrible ‘You Da One’ crap! It’s obvious they are only choosing this single because it features her pimp Joe Camel and they think HE can make it a hit for her! She has been riding the coat tails of rappers her entire career to get hits, (TI, Eminem, Joe)! She can’t get a hit unless it’s a feature or something something someone else wrote for her….which is basically everything in her entire catalougue! Bwhahahahahaha!

‘TTT is a HORRIBLE album full of a bunch of WEAK, TACKY, TASTELESS s** fueled throw away tracks! If her team had any damn sense they would release one of the FEW decent songs on the album but they are avoiding those like the plaque. ‘Where Have You Been’, ‘We All Want Love’ or at least ‘Roc Me Out’ would be so much better than that horrible ‘Talk That Talk’, I guess they know she would all butcher these songs live so what’s the point! Plus they are all dance tracks and she can’t dance to save her life! Even her own damn team doesn’t have faith in this b****! So sad! Bwhahahahaha!

I guess we should be expecting another ‘fashion show’ styled video with her walking back & forth half naked and giving a stiff whine! Having Joe Camel’s ass in the video won’t help it at all because he is faaaar from anything to look at! SMH! This album is gonna sink faster than the Titanic! Bwhahahahahahaha!

  79. Mr. Mouth January 14, 2012

She so stupid…why would you release that as a single dude? Stick to dance and release “Where Have You Been?”. If you wanna do Hip Hop or RnB, “Cockiness (I Love It)” edited. Feature Nicki on it, she would f*** that beat up. Maybe even another female rapper, or singer. Release “Watch & Learn”. Spring is almost coming up, and that would KNOCK!!! Don’t be dumb girl.
